the thing is, joel’s an attack dog, not a guard dog. he wants to be jimmy’s guard dog so badly but he’s bad at protecting him, he can only try to avenge him. if he were a guard dog, he could’ve sacrificed himself for jimmy in limited life the way he wanted, but he’s not and he couldn’t. if he were a guard dog, he could’ve prevented scott from killing jimmy in past life, but he’s not and he couldn’t. the best he can do is go after whoever killed jimmy and die with their blood on his hands and in his mouth.
