I have a new game I’m playing with myself on tumblr now where every time I see a pet photo I try to guess the sex before I scroll down to the caption where it usually says “s/he” or a gendered name. So far I’m 8/10 (and one of the losses was a cat hiding its face so does it really count?). Either I have like animal ESP or... people tend to take photos of their pets in a way that subconsciously emphasizes their “gender” (like boy cats being adventurous vs. girl cats being divas). If I don’t have ESP and I am actually performing significantly better than chance, I would totally read a paper about gendered pet photography.

One of the things I like best about these doggies is that even when migraine gets severe and fraks with my speech (aphasia, no word retrieval, etc.), they still understand what I’m saying. And when it fraks with my written/typing communication, they understand as well as they would if I were able to be coherent ;)

I want a golden retriever, but like, a Transformer golden retriever that turns into a portable little ball of floof that you can take anywhere. Like a dog that can turn into a pygmy puff. SCIENCE, GET ON THIS.
