Was just thinking of fauna in the Zone again and how it'd be neat if Clockwork's domain was surrounded by like Slices of time, with a host of creatures (and plants) from past, present (and even future) existing on the islands surrounding their tower.
All of them have existed (or will exist) in the mortal realm at some point in time, but they're distinctly Off as ghosts. Too many eyes, too long of limbs, too sharp at the edges, too large, too amorphous.
Things recognizable one moment aren't so the next. In a blink, the islands can seem to turn and twist, time shifting to replace what was once primordial invertebrates with towering megafauna.
It's as ever-shifting as Clockwork is-- a pulse. The ticking of a clock, each hour an incomprehensible leap through time.
