Neighbors dog....I am a stalker :/

So I was getting off the bus and I saw the neighbors dog crossing the street. Now this dog is an outside do, but she’s always on a leash and her collar was messed up. So I ran out there and chased the dog down,(She’’s an older dog and we’ve met before) and tried to take her home, but she dashed off. Thankfully I caught up right when she was leaving the neighbor hood. So I went to my house and got one of my dog leashes(I have dogs to) and went back to their house. I knocked on the door constantly......but no one answered, so i see if the door is opened, surely enough, it is I yelled in “I got your dog!” several times before i gave up and asked my mom what to do. She told me just to let the dog in the house if i’m positive it’s their dog, so i let her in and about an hour and a half later they knocked on my door(the daughter).

Her: “Did your sister wear a red sweater today?”

Me: “No she’s in Colorado”

Her: “Did YOU wear a red sweater today? with a white hat with ears?”

Me: “Yea (my red/pink jacket with my artemis hat)”

Her: “Can you go get your parents?”

Me: “Yea.....is this about the dog?”

Her: “Umm....yea....”

Me: “Please say that’s your dog haha am I in trouble or something?”

Her: “umm.....well......I’ll go get my mom...”

So we got our moms out and apparently someone called them and told them their dog got out so they came home to look for her and she was already in the house. None of them let them in so they thought someone broke into their house(Which wouldn’t have been hard considering they didn’t even lock their door). Nothing was moved or stolen, but they still didn’t know how the do got in the house. So I explained to them what happened and they still were thinking that I broke in and were saying that the neighbors were saying that the neighbors said the dog wasn’t out and the collar was not broken and the chain wasn’t messed up, overall, they were being pretty rude considering I kept them from loosing a dog. It’s not like I was really trashy or anything, but I was still very embarrassed about the whole thing even though i didn’t do anything wrong.......so that’s why our neighbors hate us XD.
