okay so thinking about it, i’ve definitely fantasized about being in that “rescue” situation often, but my rescuer never had to have a specific gender, and i think a lot of that “damsel in distress” intrigue for me has to do with combining my femininity with the fiction i loved, and creating fictional pain and peril that is always followed by fictional comfort and love, since i couldn’t find that comfort for pain in reality, if that makes sense?
yes there is definitely an aspect to the fantasy that isn’t gendered - just that desire to be “rescued” and the belief that there will be a rescue coming, it’s just a matter of time. and that being rescued comes exclusively from one other person.
no but like literally i 100% get that like. i unfollowed the ‘reddie’ tag cuz i was sick of seeing so many gifsets from the movie with their faces 😭😭 i think maybe i’ve just gotten so used to all the amazing fan interpretations?? and now it feels Wrong when i see stuff from ch2
yeah i way way way prefer fanart interpretations, even when theyre kind of based on pj, because theyre still so unique and dynamic than seeing Real People idk idk i never followed the reddie tag i simply am too lazy
bro why didn’t carlisle swoop bella up and run out of the house the second she cut her finger?? homeboy is a doctor surely he has at least some braincells??? and he’s the only one with enough self-control to be around a bleeding human iirc, so it would make the most sense for him to just react quickly, like vampires do, and remove her from the situation entirely while the others held cowboy back
the cullens be chugging that dumb bitch juice okay, like even if carlisle wasnt just a hot piece of ass eddie is an absolute MORON and would yeet bella into the glass before carlisle got to her anyway and thats just how its gonna be
okay you know that one Barry scene at the 12 minute mark of S1E5 where he’s just like. sittin there. with his laptop. and that fitted shirt. might be uhhhh. worth looking into 👀👀
consider: Edythe serenading Bella with ABBA, which both amuses Bella and makes her fall even more in love (god can you imagine andante andante,,,,, i’m Gay)
i cAN’T THAT IS TOO CUTE YOU HIT ME RIGHT WHERE ALL MY FEELS ARE IT’S LIKE BOOM TWILIGHT BOOM WLW BOOM FUCKING ABBA !!! thank you for this blessing
Anyone and Reader going to a corn maze, only for it to rain halfway through, forcing them to trek through increasingly muddy trails as they try to escape (based on an experience I had an hour ago lmao) 💜💜

For the last couple of hours that you’d spent at the Fall Festival at Barton Hill, you’d watched the grey clouds in the distance slowly make their way closer but you couldn’t bring yourself to give it more than a passing thought. It wasn’t very often that you could convince Sam to actually go out and do things, he was always more interested in staying home and hanging out. So you were intent on enjoying the fact that he actually agreed to go to something like this. Even it was just to put an end to your incessant asking.
The afternoon was spent picking pumpkins to bring home and carve, playing games, and eating delicious fair food. As the day was coming to an end, the two of you decided to give the corn maze a go before heading back to the car and going home. However, you entered the maze the clouds overhead seemed to be closer and darker than ever.
“We’re going to get rained on,” you said with a light chuckle, taking Sam’s hand.
He glanced to the sky and shook his head, leading you down a path, “I should have worn different shoes.”
You rolled your eyes a little and followed behind him with a grin on your face, allowing him to pull the both of you along to try and find the exit. It seemed to you after a while that Sam was finding the task a little more difficult than he was putting on. “Do you have any idea which way to go?” you asked after he had been stopped at a fork in the path for a good thirty seconds.
“Left, duh. Adventurers go left.”
He set off to the left path and you dutifully followed behind him. “I feel much less like an adventurer and more like a person following their idiot boyfriend through a corn maze that children easily complete,” you teased. Sam stopped abruptly and turned to face you, but before he could even open his mouth, you felt a large, cold drop of rain land on your nose. Almost in sync, the both of you looked up towards the sky just in time for the clouds to open up and the rain to fall.
Without another word, Sam looked back at you and began to pull you along again. You couldn’t help but let out a slight laugh as you gripped his hand just a little tighter to avoid losing him. The longer it took for the two of you to make up your minds and pick a direction, the worse the ground under your feet became. At one point, you were sure your shoe was going to come off of your foot but Sam thankfully helped you over that particular patch of mud.
“Sam, I think we should go this way,” you said loudly over the rain, tugging his hand.
He shook his head and tried to pull you in the opposite direction, “Nah, it’s this way.”
Neither one of you really wanted to relent and go the way the other had chosen so you each pulled harder to try go your way. As Sam yanked on your hand, you could feel your feet slipping in the slick mud and before you were able to stop it, you felt yourself slip and run right into Sam, knocking him down in the process. You landed with a groan on top of him. For a few moments, the two of you laid there in the mud and rain, completely silent, until you finally broke and let out a loud bark of laughter. Sam stayed quiet for a beat longer before he too started to laugh.
“God dammit, Y/N…” he huffed, sitting up slightly.
You turned to look at him as you sat up as well and let out another loud laugh. When he landed, the mud must have flown up and splashed his face as now he had specks of mud running down his cheeks and glasses. “You look like shit,” you chuckled. Sam narrowed his eyes at you and made an attempt to stand up, only slipping a time or two before he was finally able to get to his feet. He allowed you to stay on the ground with your giggles before he reached down to haul you up as well.
Finally, your laughter died down and you smiled up at him as you reached out to push his soaking wet hair away from his face. “Let’s get the fuck out of here, yeah?” you grinned, using a thumb to brush some of the mud from his face. “Then we can go home and get in a nice, warm bath.”
Sam grinned and lifted your hand up to press a kiss to the back of it, “Sounds like a deal, babydoll.”
