Repost @ratedarf FROM @goosepondmountainsanctuary A few weeks ago I shared Bambi’s story—- she was dumped at a kill shelter in California emaciated, blind and balding due to untreated diabetes. The people that dumped her claimed she was a stray, but her microchip showed that she was in fact their dog 🤬 They chose to dump her knowing she’d be euthanized rather than get her the medical care she needed. Julie at @littledivarescue and Traci at @savingimperialrescue were lucky to be able to pull her from imminent death, and spent the following month and a half getting her health stabilized before she made her way to us. Bambi is blind because cataracts formed as a result of her untreated diabetes. Last month we took Bambi to an eye specialist and they confirmed that Bambi is a candidate for surgery and can regain 95-100% of her vision! This is HUGE for Bambi’s quality of life! Bambi often wants to run and play, but will run into things and then she’s too scared to keep playing. It’s so sad when this happens and we really want to help Bambi improve her quality of life. We scheduled Bambi’s eye surgery for September 27, but we need your help!
