I volunteer at the shelter where Maynard came from. I walk dogs to get them out of the kennels for a bit each day. I spend an hour or two with a few different dogs each time, sweet dogs. It doesn't really cut into my walking time with Maynard, but of it did I think Maynard would understand. He spent a few months in the kennels. I went there tonight with my daughter who is a junior volunteer and sits in the kennels with the dogs petting them and giving them attention. We both are in love with a little pittie, a sweet mellow guy who loves when you scratch his head. I'd like to think that Maynard would appreciate that we are spending our bits of free time this way. There is lots of love to go around and Maynard, after all, is the inspiration for us sharing our time in this way.
