#art #i did end up making a bit more than this and featuring more than just annatar and one disconcerted maedhros #but to keep it thematic and also because i have unfortunately been a maedhros fan since i was 14- just those two for now.#fun note. i did pull out the old silmarillion drawings from middle school to reference how i used to draw maedhros #im coping spectacularly with being unable to play pathologic 3 because i returned to the one thing that has always worked #if i just re-read the silmarillion twice then it can override anything. it is powerful #i am off topic. important notes!#i could not tell you specific chapters/parts these all come from as my note taking for some reason omitted the parts when i scribbled down #my ideas. rookie error. instead i will just have to describe intent (even if i think it is mostly clear...)#the first is the least clear probably. annatar has been relocated to his rock during the discussion (argument) with feanaro and is doing #an excellent impression of a pointing hound while he tries to sit still.#the second and third are of course annatar's most friendly (intentionally frightening) smile and maedhros' momentary terror.#other notes and thoughts:#i was thinking somewhat intentionally about what annatar would wear as both a selected incomplete collection of garments from someone else'#wardrobe but also to the comfort of the garments and how they are worn #i appreciated the visual noise of buttons down the front of his shirt. but i am not sure he would appreciate the sensory noise of the seam #so a layer between the two makes sense.#in questioning to belt or not to belt the answer was the same. constricted waist? nay.#the colors are also mood appropriate i fear because i wasnt done thinking about it.#for color reasons i decided against a black for his smiling confrontation. but a dark gray(blue) seemed necessary. both for moral support #(close to black :) nice color) but also for the necessary evocation of what the color black and annatar in it brings to mind.#in the opposite corner is the reconvening with maedhros after that incident and the mounting worry of taking things too far.#a sensible and nonthreatening green should do fine. the red hose are an impulsive choice that mean nothing #or mean only that a spontaneous choice was made and that was not cast aside by prioritizing the goals for the day.#anyways i fear this is more than enough yapping from me.#:) i have enjoyed my time with your writing and will no doubt enjoy more another day.

happy wincest wednesday! <3 <3 what are your thoughts on dean and his relationship with school? is he good at it but just wants to focus on other things? does he help sam with homework (or the other way around)? (:

dean is a very capable, smart, and outside-of-the-box student and i’ll always die on that hill!

i do think, unlike sam, school isn’t as much of a getaway for him. he’s antsy and feels like learning the minutiae of linear and quadratic equations is pointless in the face of monsters existing. (i like to imagine there’s conversations going on between little him and john, dean begging him to just pull him out and john saying he has to wait for that, it’s not that simple.)

dean is really into history. has a conversation with one of his teachers that if he pulls his other grades up, he could be set to take APUSH. i also think dean’s not the best at writing essays that aren’t sort of all over the place in his thoughts, but only because he has a lot of them and enjoys reading the classics.

it’s really important to dean that he shows sam he basically gives no fucks about school or education or anything! at least, for himself. sure he’ll poke fun about how studious his little brother is, and if they’re mad at each other he’ll start projecting how pointless it all is anyway. but i think he likes when sam reads out to him, sits with him a lot while sam takes notes. sometimes he’ll peer over while he’s doing homework and ask sam what it’s about. then dean might tell him he remembers learning that from this one teacher in whatever state it was, who dressed up and everything just to teach them about it. the moment of peace is nice, but sam learns to stop asking dean why he’s dropping out.

as of late i have been haunted by the thoughts of venti + vennessa + nameless bard polycule . they are . in mybrain
