Dabi wraps himself around you begrudgingly in the night. It’s too warm to be touching--especially with hot hot he runs--but neither of you are willing to complain. You’d worked so hard to craft yourself into this tangle of limbs after all.
You feel a bit like one of those old women sitting on your porch, watching the fireflies and stray cats gnawing on old bones as you knitted. Working through the knots and coils, you’ve managed to stitch the man beside you on the sheets into smooth rows that fit, coiled tightly around your throat.
He keeps you warm whether you want it or not, knotted together at the joints, the bonds only growing longer and more intricate over time.
You think one day you might reach a hundred circles of his arms around your neck and you hope you reach a hundred after that.

Oh, God, okay. So, Monoma gives me the vibe that he came from the same type of home life as Todoroki, just with less (known) physical abuse. His parents want him to be perfect, so of course they were unhappy that he got into the B branch of the hero course. Their verbal abuse fuels his inferiority complex which is why he acts the way he does towards 1-A. His parents’ treatment is also why he denies the fact that he’s bisexual until Sapphire Midoriya, my oc, literally knocks some sense to him.
Before we continue on with that hc, we need to delve into Sapphire’s story a bit.
Sapphire dated Bakugo in middle school, but, as Deku’s cousin, she HATED how he treated her family and broke up with him. Upon getting accepted into UA and put into 1-A, Sapphire got closer to Kirishima because he could show her how to adapt her quirk to work like his in a fashion. She ended up developing a crush on him, despite still having feelings for Bakugo. During the training camp arc, Sapphire and Kiri are dating but, again, she has feelings for Bakugo, so when she runs into Dabi and Twice, Dabi manipulates her into believing that the League would leave Bakugo alone if she went with them, so she did. However, Twice made another clone of Dabi and a clone of Toga to return to the camp while the real Dabi and Toga stayed at the LOV HQ to torture Sapphire. Burned and scarred, Sapphire was used as a bargaining chip for Bakugo. If you thought he was tortured by guilt over being the catalyst for the end of All Might’s career, the crushing weight of his love being hurt for trying to protect him is even worse. This is the beginning of the MidoKiriBaku poly relationship.
Anyway, back to Monoma. So, the 1A vs 1B battle happens and Sapphire is on Deku’s team. Monoma mentions Bakugo’s capture at the training camp and she LOSES it. One thing she says shakes Monoma to his core, just shatters him. “You are more of a villain than Bakugo ever will be.” This just BREAKS him and he begins to reevaluate his behavior. During the dual class pajama party in the 1A dorm later, they get to playing spin the bottle and the bottle lands on Kirishima during Monoma’s turn. This is where Monoma realizes that he IS gay. He’d always had a feeling, but due to his parents and their homophobic comments in regards to some of his old classmates, he never acted upon it.
So, after a few months of spending time with the three of them, he begins to realize that he has a crush on both Kirishima and Sapphire. He’s not sure how he feels about Bakugo, but he’ll get there. Oddly enough, he’s the one who approaches them about potentially joining the relationship. Bakugo, smug bastard he is, is like, “About time, copycat.” And the rest is history. ……And will be more thoroughly detailed in my MHA fic.
