If it weren’t for Kreese? I think Johnny might have been able to win the rivalry between him and Daniel eventually.

Miguel and Hawk went too far in the Tournament, but Cobra Kai was successful! They won, they got a lot of people interested in their dojo, they have supporters thanks to students having their confidence built up and they had flashier moves to show off at the Demo. Johnny knows how to play to the crowd, and he was conscious enough about the direction Cobra Kai was heading to make an effort to tone down the violence so that the students would be better off. Daniel would have still started Miyagi-Do but not be as successful (at least not right away), and while Hawk’s attitude would probably drive away people I think that Johnny might have been able to contain the situation and improve if Kreese wasn’t there making the already existing conflicts worse. Makes me wonder what the story would have looked like if Kreese really had been dead.

With the 1st 3 seasons of Cobra Kai, I’ve felt like they were about the formation of the 3 main dojos in the series.

- Season 1 with the return of Cobra Kai. - Season 2 with the rise of Miyagi-Do. - Season 3 with the beginning of Eagle Fang.
