            leaf clings onto her rapidash’s neck tighter. so far the rumors still confirmed he was alive. the climb has been treacherous for both leaf and her pokémon. the higher she climbs, the more she thinks she understands him. she realizes how wrong she has been. coming back here after so long... there was no reason to wait any longer to climb red’s throne. mt. silver... his haven now for years.

              she has no idea what she’ll say, and the closer she gets the less of an idea she has. what do you say after years of not speaking, or even seeing each other? antoinette nuzzles her trainer in assurance, something leaf is so thankful for, because a few steps later and they’re reached the highest peak. the sun is bright, but she thinks she can make out a figure. suddenly she runs ahead, but she stops short of embracing him. after so long it would be... presumptuous.
