After Like 5 Years of Not Posting.

I'd like to introduce Velkan, my custom vampire love interest. I'm so happy I can post them now! Thank you to my wonderful moot @beevosmeower for drawing the clothing for both of Velkan's optional genders, and my friend @JhennyLanzel for helping with his hair!

Appearance

The player can’t get a good look at Velkan when they first meet due to how dark it is outside, albeit being able to note that they have a tall build. However, upon seeing them in the villa, the player can see that Velkan has blonde hair down to the middle of their torso with light brown ends. Their eyes are a bright shade of red, and as the player examines Velkan throughout the day, they see that Velkan always keeps their gloves on. They will always have the same color scheme, despite any gender changes.

Personality

Velkan maintains strict routines, both out of necessity (to manage their vampiric nature) and habit. Their days (or rather, nights) run like clockwork—they open their shop at the same hour, dust every spine precisely, and handwrite every ledger entry with elegant care. Their centuries of existence have taught him patience and restraint. Velkan is also deeply dependable. Customers trust them to source rare tomes and treat fragile books with reverence. They always follow through on their promises—perhaps to atone for a more chaotic past. Their villa is filled with preserved memories—paintings, journals, artifacts from people and places long gone. Though they rarely speak of the past, they are deeply shaped by it.

Yes ofc! Velkan actually doesn't feed off of humans. Since their hunger can be a bit of a challenge, they try their best to find alternatives, especially when they're dating you. They've turned to dishes that contain blood from animals, such as blood pudding, Blodplättar (Blood pancakes), Spartan black stew, etc. They've even gone as far as creating their own blood-infused chocolates.

Velkan's History and First Meeting!

Velkan was born a mortal in the 19th century to historian parents, developing a deep love for history. Their life changed when they investigated mysterious deaths in their village, discovering a pale, injured woman named Christabel in the forest. Months later, Velkan found Christabel feeding on a man’s blood and, instead of fleeing, sought to understand her. They grew close, fell in love, and eventually married.

To be with Christabel forever, Velkan allowed her to turn them into a vampire. While they adapted to their new life together, the village grew fearful and angry, leading the church to organize a mob. The couple was captured; Christabel was brutally executed while Velkan escaped, burdened by grief and guilt.

Velkan wandered until they found refuge in a remote, abandoned villa—later becoming their home—and opened a shop to archive their history and memories, preserving both their past and their love.

First Meeting

Currently, there are two different ways to meet Velkan:

First method: While travelling in the moor, the player may come across Velkan trying to capture a random NPC. The player will have three options of either running away from the scene, attempting an attack on Velkan, or offering to take the NPC’s place. Running away will have no consequence while attacking or taking the NPC’s place will result in Velkan taking you instead.

Second method: The player may come across the ‘abandoned’ villa on their own and will have the option to break in. The player may explore the place in search of anything that could be of value. The player will hear a loud creak from one of the upper floors. When this happens, a warning will be given: Something is hunting you. The player will be informed of either rapid footsteps, red eyes above, or a text of Velkan saying: “Is that my next meal running off?” Should the player not leave the villa in time, Velkan will catch up. They pick the player by the back of their shirt (or neck if topless) and lift them up before slamming the player into the floor multiple times until the player passes out from stress. The player will then wake up in a dark room, lying in a cage. The cage will be big enough for the player to stand in.
