Annihilation, by Alex Garland, the director of Ex Machina, is a terrific new supernatural thriller that somehow managed to be released first on Netflix in Europe, parallel to the US theatrical release. (Another sign of the times, that middle ground original films, can’t easily find a place in cinema anymore). The film is the rare genre piece that manages to be both thrilling and thought provoking. The setting is imaginative, the threat feels haunting and the mystery doesn’t resolve until the very end, leaving things open to interpretation. All these and Natalie Portman too, plus an amazing demonstration of what HDR filmmaking can do. Much like Avatar was a showcase for 3D, this film has to be seen on an Dolby Vision certified TV set, to get the full effect of its illuminous glory. It’s by no means an easy film, it’s not a fast paced action extravaganza, but it will captivate you and get you thinking.

Bemutatkozott az LG G6

Lezajlott az idei LG zászlóshajó bemutatója is, igazán komoly meglepetések nélkül, de azért egy decens kis mobilt tettek le az asztalra.

A G6-tal dobták a G5-tel bepróbált modularitást, az egész ház egyben van - egész konkrétan IP68-as mértékben por- és vízálló - a borítás fém. A kijelző 5,7 colos, de 18:9-es képarányt kapott, ami miatt ez a képátló egy kényelmesebb fogással párosul. (Egyébként az osztott képernyő natív támogatása miatt amúgy is jobbnak tűnik ez az elosztás.) 

A hátlapon maradt az ujjlenyomat olvasó és a dual camera, utóbbi egyébként már nem kétféle optika, hanem egymás kiterjesztései, optikai képstabilizátor a dual lencsékhez továbbra sincs.

Specifikációk: - 5.7-colos 2880x 1440-es kijelző 2:1 képaránnyal, Dolby Vision támogatással - IP68-as minősítés (por- és vízálló) - 13 megapxieles dual-kamera (ultra-széleslátószöggel) - Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 - 4 GB RAM - 32 GB tárhely - 3300 mAh akksi vezetéknélküli töltéssel - Android 7.0 Nougat

Jah és van Google Assistant (mármint a Google csevegő progiján és fotó alkalmazásán kívül is működik), így tényleg az LG telefonja lett az első a Pixelek után, ami ezt is fel tudja mutatni. Erről egyébként mindjárt külön is írok pár szót.

Update: a microSD bővíthetőségről nem esett szó, de van, bővíthető a memória.
