Someone got new clothes today.

Also tryin’ another wig.  Not sure about this one either.

It begins.

Dollie Sal made in today.  He’s go no wig or eyes but I was able to throw together a version of his every day look with what I had laying around the house.  He’s a bit smaller that I though he’d be.  He’s wearing an Azone shirt from way back.  The jeans he has on are too big in the waist and a bit too short in the legs.  Ah well.

Time to start planning the mods.

Ms. Kate is slowly coming into her own.  

Today I changed out her eyes.  The honey brown ones she came with were nice but they were too dark or something.  For now she’s wearing a pair of acrylics until I decide on a final pair.  The teal does looks pretty good for now.  I almost bought her these grey glass ones but nah...bright looks better.

I also raided my wig and clothing boxes.  Not a hundred percent sold on this wig but I like it much better than the one I stuck her in when she arrived.  

Clothing-wise she’s a more modern kinda character which is gunna be a little tricky.  I got a couple of pieces coming from Japan so I’ll see how they work.  For now she’s stuck in hand-me-downs.

The newest addition to my doll family, Kate. 

Kate is a Volks FCS F09 on a SD13 body.  I think she was made pre-2002/2003 since she doesn’t have a head plate, just an engraving with the number.

She’s in great condition though I had a hell of a time trying to take her headcap off, hence the wonk eyes.  I’ll have to fix that later when I’m not so tired.  

Also somewhere a long the line someone had fixed her hands and feet so they slot in via a peg system.  It’s pretty cool but whoever did it swapped her feet for high heeled ones.  I didn’t notice in the sales page.  So it looks like Kate is gonna need some heels or new feet.  Which ever is easier.

I’m very excited.  The doll I am basing my beloved OC Sal has been shipped.  

I found a Lumedoll Fionn on ebay for a reasonable price.  He’s only 30cm tall but he’s got the right skin tone and he’ll be portable.   And I can get him so many tiny sweaters and cardigans. 

I’m a little nervous about doing his mods though.  My dear Sal has so many little quirks.  I should be able to do the things like the tail and wings but the face-up will have to be done by a professional.

My hands hurt. :(

I bought a body for my SD10 volks girl.  Her knees kept cracking and I was tired of mending them.  I ended up buying an older volks body but I had no idea how old it was until I got it home and took it apart to clean.  It has no s-hooks in the feet.  They were kept on with tiny bits of string which I stupidly cut.  

So now the body is clean but in pieces.  I tried several ways of restringing without resorting to tying the feet on.  It all ended with me cursing and sore fingers.  I need to get some elastics for them or s-hooks.  Whatever is easier.  It's just annoying 'cause I really wanted Honey Bea on her new body so she can join the rest of the group.  Now it looks like another week before I can fix her.

My Mads here and it looks like he had a bad time of it, travel-wise.

The box was dented and there was this strange yellow tape slapped on top of my address. The head inside looked as if it had been removed then hastily put back.  The head was fine.  Not a scratch or a ding but it did give me a little worry.  

I'll have a picture of the good doctor later after I've had my coffee.

And back to annoyed.  

My Mads was shipped out on the 2nd but after he left China there was no update.  Nothing.  I had a Taobao order of bjd odds and ends ship a few days afterwards and it's already made it to NYC/JFK.  Lovely.  I'm giving it til the end of the week to show up before I start emailing Granado.
