New project of reworking a miniature bakery

Crafting night with friends.  We redecorated Dollar Tree doll houses.  I love seeing how each of my friends have such different styles.  With the exception of the candy house, i think most of the decorations were from the Dollar Tree.  Some people brought their own, but most seemed to be from the fairy garden collection.  I bought the candy from Amazon.  It will be fun to make a few more of these.  Next up will be a farmhouse for a Wizard of Oz themed party.  I plan to make a tornado centerpiece and add the house and a cow.  One friend said she will be putting hers on a tray for a cute charcuterie board.  Another is using hers as inspiration for her dream home by the sea.  These would be fun to make in all kinds of themes.  I added clear plastic windows to the plain black house and painted a ghost  so it looks like he is peering out the window.  Adding a light behind the house would give it a totally different look. So many ideas, so little time.

I finished this the day before Halloween and then launched into all the things that I wanted finished for the kids’ Halloween. It was very therapeutic to work on. Though I’m a bit late for the “apothecary” prompt for Mab’s Drawloween Club, it still applies, and I’m just in time for “Magic” for #Faytober and “Book” for #Witchtober You know how sometimes you buy something because you just know that it will be great for some yet unknown project and then lots of time passes and you still haven’t used the thing and you get frustrated with yourself? I had lots of this going on for years, but more and more, I am realizing that I have the perfect thing on hand and am so happy that I bought it when it was available. This project has lots of those things and even some things that I bought recently for something else, but it didn’t work out for that or I had stuff left over. It’s been so satisfying and really validated that listening to my creative instincts will deliver if not now, then later.
