Theo has to get a better look, because he can't be seeing what he thinks he's seeing. Focusing his invisible binoculars, they can get a really good look at the unmistakeable plastic flesh. "Dolores!?" He puts his invisble binoculars aside, approaching her -- cautiously. "Ain't you a sight for sore eyes!" He... doesn't know what to do, now. Theo isn't used to taking things seriously, but he can't be flippant about this.
"I thought you died." They say this accusingly, as if she'd left Theo personally. For lack of anything more eloquent (Theo had never been the best with words, of the three of them), he holds his arms out in a silent, and remarkably pathetic, request for a hug. @animusvenenatus
“are you mad at me now?” (for dolly, from tatiana)
“i think mad is an overstatement.”
dolly kicks back in her office chair, feet propped on her desk. she lights a cigar in her hands, not even sparing tatiana a glance.
though once she does—looking up as she takes a drag and then promptly exhales the smoke—it’s clear her eyes are scanning tatiana’s face. her expression.
dolly noticed tatiana’s fauxness, much like she did with everything in this city. though long before she arrived, she learned to pick her battles. or better yet… wait. everything has its uses in time.
the cigar smoke rises, masking half of dolly’s face in grey. but it clears and she relaxes in her chair once more, looking away from tatiana and taking another casual drag.
“you just annoy me,” dolly states bluntly before tilting her head to the side with an almost-sigh, “don’t take it personally. just the way she goes.”
Billie can feel the dissociative fog slipping over her, inevitably. She knows when it's happening, she's just never figured out how to stop it. Her gaze is fixed on the middle distance, expression absent; everything starts feeling so heavy. Fuck. She knows she's pulling the gravity down -- she certainly can't move easily right now. And it's got to be dragging the woman near her down, too.
"...Sorry..." Feels like her voice is coming from a stranger. She'll never understand why she can't just pull her soul back into her body when these moments come over her. "S'me... trying to stop." Billie stares at the hands in front of her. Her own hands. Broad, calloused from weight lifting. Might as well be the dainty, plastic-perfect fingers of the blonde, though, for how much they feel like her own. @animusvenenatus
Dolly
Dolly.
❛ i don’t know how you do this every day… ❜ for dolores !
dolly.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“ well, it’s not for everyone, ” dolly takes an old pack of cigarettes from the back pocket of her tan slacks; whatever brand it is is unknown because of how faded the image is, and how the paper box has started to wrinkle from being tossed around. she places the cigarette in her mouth, fumbling through the pocket of her jacket now for the lighter; she talks with it hanging between her teeth, “ you gotta have grit, for one thing. ”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀she finds the lighter and quickly lights her cigarette. she takes a long inhale, and then blows out a cloud of smoke, letting it fade into the orange sunset sky. dolly pulls it out from her lips and holds it between her fingers, the way it slips into place so naturally makes you wonder if all that smoking has left a dent in her fingers.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“ you’ve gotta fight if you even wanna be slightly relevant. ” dolly shrugs, and faces the other way from dylan, “ everybody thinks reportin’ is just about pictures and writing, but that’s only some of it. every part of the world is cut-throat, because even though we’re not in the jungle anymore, we’re still fightin’ for survival. ”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀she takes a short inhale, the smoke leaving her lips like they’re the words coming out of her mouth, “ everybody wants to be at the top of the food chain. not a lot of people are willing t' do what it takes, ” dolly looks back at dylan, staring him down from under her nose, subtly grinning, “ but i am. ”
❛ who the hell invited you? ❜ -- alan/dolly

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀" you don't know? " ⠀⠀as though he wouldn't, or any detective within the nearest 500 miles for that matter. dolly's known as a 'nosey-reporter', though that's a kinder way to put it compared to what others have had to say. she can sense a story from a mile away, and good god, is this one hell of a story she's about to have on her hands.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀" i don't need an invitation, tiger, "⠀⠀ she grins at him, ruby red lips with a faint mark showing the natural hue from the last cigarette she'd smoked before entering. she pulls up her radiator sunglasses and places it on her head, the silhouette almost being that of a crown, ⠀⠀" we're friends, aren't we? i mean, since you seem to know me so well already.
