Thanks for the information. Poor Chuck... I had a feeling about his speech, but had no idea about his arm. He deserved so much better than that. I wonder if complications from his brain injury had anything to do with his death in 1982?

i think a big part of it was the tully motto ya know "family duty honour" and like..... ned sleeping with someone else and bringing back the child from that union to his wife who is pregnant with their legitimate son........ pretty much violates every single tully value lmao. idk. that's just what i always thought

hm thats true, ive never thought of her family motto/values coming into it! like, it might even be that bc of that family background, to her treating jon the same as her own kids wouldnt be good, or would like, idk be bad form somehow or something?

idk being raised in a culture that views illegitimate children as subhuman and especially being raised to believe her sole job is to provide heirs ... idk the writing with it is inconsistent

i mean, i guess, and ofc i get like, if ur married to someone, and you HAVE A KID W THEM TOO and they come home one day w a random kid youd be like ‘wtf’ but to me its like, well she was in love w (or fond of, or whatever) brandon when her and ned got married, and he basically wed her, bed her, and then left for war, so she didnt even,,,know him enough to be genuinely hurt beyond the courtesy side of it (its bad form as fuck to sleep w another woman and bring the kid home and reflects badly on her in a public sense i guess) but like, the way she carried it all her life and took it out on jon, an innocent baby in this situation, was always really cold imo. like she wasnt mad cruel or anything but its clear she let him know she didnt care for him at all
