The Battle of the Trident never happened, Rhaegar is king and Prince Jon is sent to Winterfell to be a ward of his mother’s family.  I really can't recommend this fic enough, it’s just that good. I encourage everybody who wants to read an interesting, well written story to go check it out!

Buffy was my gateway fandom…it lead to harder things like Stargate, Marvel, and ASOIAF...

Buffy was huge for me back in the day. The season 2 finale was mind blowing and really moving. It had a deep effect on me and I have part of the OST from it on my ‘writing’ playlist.

In Fate is it ever going to become clear which of the ships is going to be end game? Or will it be a guessing game until the end?

Er.. my bad! Haha! What I meant to ask before I sidetracked myself was, is there any reason in particular that Jon ends up with Val? Also, since there are new lord's in the gift, who do those lord's owe their feudal obligations to? To winterfel or castle black?

Great questions!

Brief summation of the plot of ‘The Winters to Come’ is it follows the Starks helping Castle Black to defeat Mance’s wildling army. Jon plays a big role in that victory and captures Val. Ned decides to settle those wildlings willing to bend the knee on the New Gift and Robert backs the move. 

Jon is one of several northmen chosen to be raised up as a lords of the new lands settled by wildlings. He’ll be given Queenscrown and his marriage to Val is one of many to firm up the new arrangements.

The New Gift harvests are taxed to the Night’s Watch while their fealty is split between Winterfell and the Wall. If the NW summons them for help, they must answer. That’s the only reason they could defy the will of the Starks of Winterfell.

On your Jon/Dany story that is in the works. Holy crap a royal invasion of Dorne? I think I'm missing something here. What on earth would cause Robert to go conquerer mode on that area? Is this during the tail end of Robert's Rebellion or when Jon and Dany are grown up?

The invasion of Dorne will happen after Robert’s Rebellion but I won’t say when because spoilers, right?

As to the cause of the war, well I think it is pretty obvious isn’t it? 

It’s just like Doran says to Arianne, “Someone talked, Someone always talks.”

What family does Robert hate above all others? Who is sheltering a member of that family? What implications does that have for the Iron Throne?

Cool, question time! In Fate, you showed us Sansa voicing her doubts having observed the whole Jon/Dany relationship. As uninformed as I think Domeric keeps her, will it play a part in the choices she'll make? And does the clever and observant Domeric knew of Dany/Jon?

By choices Sansa will make, I assume you mean whether or not she’ll choose to marry Domeric? I think Sansa was pretty clear on her position regarding Roose’s plan. Domeric betraying the Starks and killing her people influenced that decision more than anything else.

Domeric suspected something between Dany and Jon but he’s not one to go around spreading rumours. He respects the power of knowledge and is careful with it, keeping it hidden away until it’s most useful.
