In response to the recent changes to Artfight, I will be doing art trades in July this year. I do not agree with the stance they have on not being able to use your own bases, assets, or photography. It is understandable if there is a lack of variety, if a person only uses one base they have ever made for every attack they do. However, to say that it is "lazy" to trace your own work. Is a level of entitlement that downright just hurts my brain.
It still takes effort to make that base, effort to take that picture yourself and use it in more of your work. It still takes effort to pose a model in a way that allows you to create your work. It is still YOURS. YOU put it together, you should be allowed to use it in YOUR work.
That being said, I will be opening art trades in July instead of participating in Artfight this year. And I will reblog this up until the month of July to remind people of my promise.
