One of the most ridiculous matches I have ever seen pits Chief Jay Strongbow against Bulldog Don Kent in a shark cage. I actually own this match on a five-disc set called Wrestling Gold. Hosted by Jim Cornette and Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, it is a great collection of old school wrestling from various territories during the 1960s and '70s. This match is from the Big Time Wrestling promotion from Detroit, taking place in 1977.

Say what you will about the cultural stereotype that is Chief Jay Strongbow, but he was a favorite among old school wrestling fans up until his retirement in 1985. By the time Joe Scarpa had adopted the Chief gimmick in the ethnically-driven WWWF, he had already been a thirteen-year veteran of the mat wars. Detroit would be his next big run with a feud against Don Kent that culminated in the cage. Kent was one-half of the Fabulous Kangaroos with Al Costello before becoming the maniacal dog-collar wearing Bulldog. The camera keeps cutting back to the locker room to check on Mark Lewin, who was bloodied earlier in the night by Don Kent. The Maniac fights his way out of the locker room and storms the ring with a receipt for the Bulldog!
