hi, snooze. your most recent comic, "oh, how the twilight becomes you" resonates with me on such a deep level, that i just can't stop showing it to as many people as possible. thank you so much for making n'ever such an excellent character, and for continually putting out such good stories

🌺 Headcanon: While you, the writer, and we, the rp partners and readers, are privy the names of the various flowers Danny produces, he himself is ignorant of the common names of many of them, and only understands their 'meanings' based on the contexts in which they show up.

Danny is very well-learned in the common names of what he grows, of course it took him a while to learn them all - but he had a good headstart from gardening when he was younger. If he sees something new, he will immediately try to find out what exactly it is - and there's only a rare chance of something new showing up.

(He does have a journal of what flowers mean what as he figures them out - which he keeps to himself, because he doesn't want people to be able to read what emotions he's feeling on a whim.)

Rose Campion: If you had to fight, which one person would you chose to fight at your side? Would you pick them based on skill, on trust, or both? for any 3 characters

“If I look only at combat skills, I guess I’d pick Merces to fight at my side, or maybe Xuanlu: he’s a bit unpredictable, but based on what little I’ve seen, he could make a good battle companion. Merces would be a more predictable pick, for better or worse."

“In all honesty, though... if there’s one person I’d trust my life with, it’s Zhah’ra. I wouldn’t want to drag him into a battle - even though I believe in his healing skills - but I know he would have my back, and I’d have his.”

“I would ideally want to avoid fighting altogether, but if I had to choose, I would choose Cain. He seems to have got quite far in thaumaturgy, and I trust him. He is resilient and reliable.”

Fact for fact! One of Karin's favorite pastimes is watching birds. She enjoys going on nature walks and seeing and hearing them go about their business. Her favorite birds are the small and otherwise unremarkable brown ones (sparrows, of course).

Ehn used to secretly feed the birds outside his dorm window while he was attending the Arcanist Guild’s curriculum. He has no idea if it was technically against the rules or not, but he did go through great efforts not to get caught. Even if the birds would still recognize him when he went outside.

hey, love the new boy! looks super soft! i'm just wondering, how come you're quarantining them side by side? i thought the quarantine was to prevent the spread of potential pathogens, mites, etc from the new rat to the old one, which is still possible if their cages are in the same room. anyway i hope he settles in to his new home well 🐀💖

Are there any particular xiv npcs that you like a lot, or that you've thought about more than others, or daydreamed up stories of them interacting with your characters?

You and I talked abt some of my fave NPCs but for anyone who doesn’t know, M’zhet is an absolute dumbass but he’s my dumbass.

Considering M’yhe’s branch of the M tribe would sometimes stop and pass through the Peering Stones, I like to imagine he at least knows of M’zhet, probably watched his ass get kicked on a few occasions.

hey there, i'm interested in joining the first shard rp discord, but i don't have a first shard character ready yet on account of not having a good grasp on first shard races and naming conventions. would it still be possible for me to join even if i'm not quite ready to rp?

i hope you don’t mind me answering this publicly, just in case someone else was wondering the same thing.

the main purpose of the application is to ensure two things:

you (and your charater, by extension) are 18+

your character isn’t lore-breaking

we completely understand that folks are still in various stages of completing MSQ, so we’re not super concerned with things like names being decided and backstories being set in stone.

feel free to fill out the application the best you can. for the things you aren’t sure of yet, just put “TBD” or something similar! as long as the two tenets above are satisfied, you’ll be accepted!

we already have some lore resources in the discord that can help you and anyone else finalize their character!
