Indulge in the deliciousness of homemade smashburgers with this recipe inspired by Donal Skehan's 'EAT LIVE GO.' These burgers are juicy, cheesy, and loaded with classic toppings, making them a perfect treat for a feast.
Ingredients: 1 pound ground beef 80% lean. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices American cheese. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 1 tablespoon ketchup. 1 tablespoon yellow mustard. 1/2 cup shredded lettuce. 1/4 cup sliced pickles. 1/4 cup diced onions. 1/4 cup diced tomatoes.
Instructions: Preheat a griddle or cast-iron skillet over high heat. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into balls. Place each ball of beef onto the hot griddle or skillet. Using a spatula, smash the beef down to create a thin patty. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges are crispy and browned. Flip the patties, add a slice of American cheese on top of each patty, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired level of doneness. While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the griddle until they are lightly browned. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, and yellow mustard to make the sauce. Assemble the burgers by spreading the sauce on the toasted buns, then adding a patty with melted cheese on each bun. Top the patties with shredded lettuce, sliced pickles, diced onions, and diced tomatoes. Place the top bun on each burger to complete the assembly. Serve your Smashburger Feast hot and enjoy!
