Some idiots came down to our harbour and started trying to hand-feed the resting local seals by swimming up to them, shouting and whistling, and hitting the water, while their friends recorded from the shore.

I just wanna make something really clear;

Do NOT come somewhere on holiday and then start disturbing and trying to hand-feed the WILD ANIMALS!

Our local seals some of the rarest in the world, they’re incredibly shy and don’t need to be harassed! You could get yourself bitten or smacked by a protective mother or bull seal. And even in the best case scenario, they take a fish from your hand and you get your cute Instagram shot, encouraging seals to approach humans for food is a VERY STUPID IDEA. Do you know what happens to seals who approach fishing boats? They bite the tails off fish caught in nets, so fishermen will shoot the seals.

Leave wild animals alone, admire them from a distance. It’s not hard.

One of my reblogs got reblogged by a Elon Musk supporter! I skimmed his blog and, wow, it's a bunch of racist/sexist/homophobic drivel. In this process I also found another big maga-y blog!

Here's what I need:

However, I implore you not to interact with them. I've argued with trolls before, and here's the thing: it never works. I've never gotten too deep in the weeds, as I just block them if they're clearly here to troll, but seriously. It sucks.

Do not argue with them. Do not respond to their posts. Do not send asks. Report and block.

They might claim that we're "silencing voices that we disagree with." But listen:

These people say they want good faith arguments. They, however, rely on strawmanning, caricaturizing, and various other logical fallacies. They will pick apart your arguments, intentionally misinterpret you, and Ad Hominem you into the abyss. Trust me, I know.

Your time and energy is worth more than that. There are better ways to fight a post-fascist movement. Giving energy to these people who'll never change their mind because of a well-intentioned argument isn't the way.
