I was gentle with this girl and reminded her how brilliant she is. I never minimized her experiences or told her to second guess her intuition. ➖➖ I believed she was capable of anything she committed to and celebrated every accomplishment. I never lost patience with her or tried to tame her energetic spirit. ➖➖ When did I stop breathing life into this girl? I think it was in middle school but I can't pinpoint exactly when. ➖➖ I started comparing her to others and whispering lies in her ear that she wasn't good enough. I made her cry and become self conscious of the smallest things. ➖➖ I dimmed her light but it wasn't intentional. I promise, it was honestly a mistake. I've apologized to her but now it's time to do the work and reverse those negative thoughts she's been fed. ➖➖ Now I remind her daily to have faith and not rush her progress because everything will come together in God's timing. 💛 ➖➖ #MHSummerReFRESH entry for the past two days.
