#Repost @kortney_olson (@get_repost) ・・・ Photoshopped/Airbrushed vs Not. (swipe) I’m 36 and a half. Wise enough to know I’m making a conscious decision to UH OH! (Not show you an implied nude shot so you can say “so sexy”) 1. Show you how subtle photo manipulation can shift our perspective on how we view our bodies/worth. (Forehead lines vanished.) 2. Why is it when women want to celebrate sexuality, we’re viewed as trashy (even though I haven’t had a libido since 2007 lol. #stayoffdrugskids ). Weird huh? So many stigmas and double standards to break down. But I will say I’m proud my longtime journalist turned photographer colleague sat and listened to me for over an hour as to why we refrain from using photoshop and airbrushing in our clothing line, and the detriment it causes women and girls. I suggested we do a quick example of a before and after shot post photographing some clothing. Train your eye to catch the difference, and educate your youth what photo manipulation looks like. Whether it’s ‘right or wrong’ ‘good or bad’- that’s up to the individual to decide (you know my stance). But what’s important is to talk about how it impacts our self esteem and worth, on a subconscious level. Maybe just don’t use this particular pic as an example. Nah- maybe do. We’re just normalizing women’s bodies. And do breastfeed in public. Oh and do watch our documentary grrrlfilm.com on this exact topic. #freethenipplemovement #photography #education #bodypositive #mentalhealth #awareness #sexuality #ihavenolibido #thatswhatsup #dontdometh #soberlife #jft
