i thought someone might. okay so my sister Emily lives in a sharehouse with a revolving roster of hipster housemates, and one of the ones living there over the summer has a lovely cat called Ralph who’s like white with tabby patches and is really friendly and affectionate and liked to sleep on Em’s bed because he’s lovely. he used to just come through her window at night bc i’m pretty sure it doesn’t actually close, that house is falling to bits.
anyway, one night she’s almost asleep when she hears his bell and so she calls to him and he climbs through the window, curls up next to her and goes to sleep as usual, or so she thinks... the next morning when she wakes up she looks down to see a siamese cat she’s never seen before sleeping next to her. she wasn’t totally with it yet so she just screamed kind of instinctually and the poor thing just ran away. she still feels guilty that this cat trustingly spent a beautiful night with her and that she was so rude the morning after. she was actually distraught when she was telling me about it and she said she’d been looking out for the cat so she could make amends like the strange child she is.
I need to start going to gay bars with someone other than my (conspicuously queer) sister...
The only good thing about the 2005 movie allegedly based on Pride and Prejudice is that it spawned a game my sister and I play, called "Which British Actor Would Make The Worst Mister Darcy?". You basically just start with Matthew McFadden and work your way down.
