Don’t Mind the Weirdness (Jaspidot attempt)
(A/N: Since I’m a sucker for the Jaspidot, Feral Gems and Gem Egg Hell, I’ve decided to try my hand at writing about them. I’m gonna warn that it has suggestive themes (nudity, egg laying) but other than that it’s pretty fine. I hope you enjoy this little attempt!)
That's all she knew as she desperately looked around the rocky coast of the beach for the perfect hiding spot, inadvertently lowering herself to her hands and feet. She winced slightly as her stomach spasmed once more, she was running out of time, she needed somewhere safe. She scurried along carefully to check any possibly rock cranny to wedge herself in and make herself safe.
She didn't tell anyone where she was going for fear they might catch her in this predicament, and being that her motherly instinct was lashing out at any possible thing that could pose threat, she didn't want to hurt them. She had already come so far with gaining their trust and she didn't want to ruin that over instincts.
Finally, finally she found a spot just about her size, it wasn't too spacious but it wasn't too cramped that it didn't allow her to move when she had to. She looked around again to make sure no one was following her before easing herself inside. She could hear her labored breathing now that the crashing waters were muted by the stone walls.
The sand was soft under her as she quickly made a nest, this would do well hopefully, and there was a patch of sunshine just right where she was digging, perfect.
"Peridot!?" came a familiar yell, causing the small gem to squeak then immediately cover her mouth. Oh Diamonds, why did she have to go looking for her now of all times?
Thundering footsteps could be heard even on the sand, a familiar scent was soon reaching the small space. Peridot went rigid, holding her breath and hoping that her labor wouldn't turn into something more at this moment.
She didn't want her to see her like this, it was humiliating to say the least, exposing herself while she laid their children. Also she didn't want the other Gem encountering her feral side, she knew she would most likely see her as a threat mainly because of her size and try to attack her, which would probably lead to some of the clutch being accidentally stepped on in the hustle.
She didn't want that. No matter how bad she wanted her to be here with her, she didn't want to take any chances.
"Peridot?" the gruff voice was closer, quieter even. The footsteps no more stomping around but simply tiptoeing. Hoping to hear a slip up.
A particularly sharp pain had caused her to double over and whine softly. It was enough for the other Gem to hear. Damn it.
Finally a huge shadow enveloped the entryway and the owner of the voice went down on her hands and knees. Glowing yellow irises look directly at her in worry.
"Peri what are you doing out he-"
"Go away!" Peridot whined, scooting back away from the entrance just in case the other Gem decided to pull her out. Jasper blinked in confusing before she started sniffing the air, realization must have struck her because now she was somewhat pale and her pupils dilated into slits.
"Y-You're laying? Now?" She asked quickly, briefly looking around the makeshift cluster of rocks as if looking for another entryway into the small space.
Peridot nodded faintly as she tried to remain quiet, but those damned contractions weren't making it any easier, she was running out of time. She tightly closed her eyes and inhaled sharply.
"Please, Jasper, I'm begging you. Don't come near me... I don't want anything to happen..."
The soldier blinked in confusing before rubbing her eyes and nose, probably trying to rid herself of that scent Peridot was letting off during her labor. She then looked into Peridot's eyes and smiled softly.
"Too bad, cause I'm not going anywhere."
The little green Gem growled out her frustrations as she resumed hastily making the nest, "Jasper, this isn't the time to be that stubborn now! I might harm you... or I might accidentally harm the eggs in effort to try to attack you. I don't want that happening."
Jasper pursed her lips as she sat down and made herself comfortable, much to the annoyance of Peridot, and leaned forward to better look into the small space, "Well that's if I somehow get myself in there, right? You won't attack something if you can't see it?"
Peridot frowned and shuddered as a strong wave overcame her, she then looked at Jasper and whined, "I don't want to take any chance. Just please go, I'll come back with the Gemlings when their shells harden."
The red striped Gem frowned slightly at that, that would mean that they wouldn't see each other for the next couple of weeks. And by the look of how she got herself comfortable, Peridot could tell that she wasn't going to go anywhere anytime soon.
"Then I'll stay here with you. You're going to be too tired at first and if anything came around with the intent to harm you then you wouldn't be able to defend yourself or the kids. So consider me your personal bodyguard until they are able to be moved back to the Temple."
The smaller Gem would've argued with that however it seemed like her time had ran out, she yelped out as she doubled over, damn that brute, of course she'd make this another level harder for her. From the corner of her eyes she could see just how rigid the Gem became as soon as she heard that from her little mate. But she remained still, she wasn't going to try to make the situation any more stressful than she had already made it.
Peridot whined in embarrassment as she phased out of her clothes, the cool sand below her sent her into slight chills. She faced away from Jasper and the entrance, her back toward them, then carefully eased herself into the small nest that she had made.
She could already feel herself giving in to the instincts, she strained as she felt the first of their spawn start to slide down, the contractions telling her to push.
Luckily there weren't that many eggs, her small frame had allowed her to carry six Gemlings and no more, she was glad actually because she didn't need her first clutch being around the tens. Especially since she was already going to be trying to learn how to raise these little ones.
Chills went down her spine as she pushed, leaning forward slightly to help the effort a bit.
Her skin prickled with sensations as her instincts took a better hold on her now, she was pretty sure that she would not remember any of this by the time the first of their children laid in the sand.
And she was right. As soon as she felt the relief of the first one, she had completely given into her instincts.
Jasper was beyond nervous right now, but her demeanor wouldn't have told anyone that, her muscles were stiff and her eyes were staring straight ahead. She looked completely ready for battle. Something told her to remain alert while her mate was laying.
She could hear the small grunts and whimpers that Peridot made as she went through this situation but Jasper remained still. She needed to remain here, she needed to protect them right now.
Hell maybe this was that feeling Peridot tried to explain to her the other night, she couldn't find herself fighting against it no matter how hard she tried. But then again she never put up that much of one if it meant protecting the little green Gem.
She was beyond alert now, eyeing a crab dangerously as it waddled toward the ocean shore not too far away, her hearing the seagulls cawing just above had made her skin prickle with goosebumps. The hair on the back of her neck rising at everything little thing that moved anywhere near them.
Her jaw tightening even when a plastic bag flew by with a simple breeze. Everything sent her on edge.
Pheromones from the little cranny that Peridot was in were becoming stronger the more time had passed by. It was becoming sunset now and Jasper hadn't even moved an inch.
She couldn't hear any more small noises from her mate so she had assumed that the laying was finished, she was curious to say the least. Just because she wanted to protect them didn't mean that she could peek a little.
She leaned slightly over the entrance to find that indeed the laying was over, and Peridot was licking off a clear fluid on a small geode, she probably just finished. The tiny Gem didn't notice her peeking at first, too busy making sure that the little eggs were all in the dying sunlight to get its last warmth for the night. It was by her placing to tiniest egg down with its clutch mates did she notice Jasper peeking in.
She immediately snarled and hissed, slowly and carefully putting herself over the nest and not letting the bigger Gem out of her sight. Jasper remained still and stared right back.
Finally Peridot must've realized that Jasper wasn't going anywhere so she showed an even more aggressive display to go away, she snarled harsher, now moving herself in front of the clutch.
Jasper once again didn't move, she still had that need to protect them and Peridot's little --but somewhat cute-- display of aggression wasn't going to deter her from her motive.
Once again Peridot must've knew she wasn't being taken seriously so she decided to lash out with her hand, claws swiping at the air like a angry cat, she hissed again as her hair started to bristle out of its style.
Jasper moved away from the entrance to go on her hands and knees, she was practically asking for the protective new mother to come at her. And the little Gem did, with speed she didn't think she would have after just finishing laying.
Peridot scratched, bit, and kicked at Jasper to go away, but each hit didn't affect the larger Gem and she was able to ignore most of them. She knew that Peridot was acting out of instinct to protect their Clutch. And most likely would stop trying to chase her away once she recognized her and realize that she meant no harm to them.
Jasper... may had read some data logs on this while Peridot wasn't looking. Just to be prepared for anything!.
She laid on her stomach then, not knowing why either, but it had calmed the small Gem down enough to where she was staring; waiting for any sudden movements.
When she was content that Jasper wasn't going to try anything, she cautiously eased over to bury her face in her mane of white hair, sniffing deeply and purring too softly to be heard normally. But being as she was practically on Jasper's head, the bigger Gem couldn't help but hear and purr back.
Whatever this little episode was had ended just as quickly as it began, Peridot had abruptly hopped off of her to scurry right back into the cranny where the nest was, almost completely ignoring the Gem since now she wasn't a threat.
Jasper sighed in relief as she sat up and dusted herself off. Instinct basically took a hold on her during that entire situation and now she was left with a sense of pride. Maybe because she felt Peridot found her worthy of something, she didn't know for sure.
She walked back to the entrance and plopped down to sit, leaning against some rocks on the side to look at the sky, most likely Peridot would remain in her feral state for at least tonight, tomorrow she might be herself again.
She grinned, she couldn't wait to tell her all about this day.
And get a better look at the eggs that cause the little Gem to act too cute during her feral state.
(Another A/N: I am not ashamed of this! And I might post my Head-Cannons about these things from time to time for people can understand where I’m going with this, hope you enjoyed!)
