The admins of #strawberrywinerp are bullies and gaslighters.
On their last site, they left all of the admin duties to one admin and bullied and treated her horribly. Claims and moderation were left for days at a time unless she got to them. When she eventually and rightfully quit, a replacement was installed in less than 24 hours. Almost like it was planned.
The two main admins regularly gaslit their members too. Member concerns were brushed off and belittled, to the point where anybody who had concerns sidestepped them and spoke to the one admin who put the work in and listened. Even their goodbye message when the site was made offline blamed their own members for the toxicity that they had fostered by treating members and staff alike like crud.
It appears they're not above stealing either - the plot for the admin's Rami Malek x Lucy Boynton ship appears to be similar to a ship on their previous site with the same faces, by other people. It could be a coincidence, but it seems a little too close for comfort. #JusticeForZaneve This has been discussed with the other player involved. I would like to apologize for any stress this has caused and did not mean any harm when bringing this issue up.
I tried to message them about these concerns on their new buzz blog, but it never got responded to. They will claim they never got the message, but it will have been read and deleted - just like their member's concerns on their last site.
Back in February when the site opened, everybody was really excited. By the time they shut it down, there was a collective sigh of relief amongst their members. As much as they were sad to say goodbye to the characters and ships there, they were glad to be free of this discomfort they caused. Go ahead with caution if you want to associate with them.
Ditto/Mouse and Eevee/Ciri will no doubt call this post bullying, or ask why people never reached out with any concerns. This post is to warn people who may be unfamiliar with them or how they operate to inform them of what they might encounter. People did reach out about their behaviour- to other admins. And they gaslit the whole community for it. This was not a one time thing, 90% of the former members would have a story about being treated unfairly. They had form for it too - some members had been on sites with them before and predicted this would be how it played out.
Again, this it to let people unfamiliar with them know what to expect going forward. Make your own decisions and conclusions about it in the end. But my ask is open - look after yourselves.
