it’s been a complete blur ;; the last few hours. the last thing he remembered was fighting against a meta human they’d named reverse cupid. this meta’s powers could be described as the midas touch, but instead of things turning to gold, he made lovers turn into enemies. there had been domestic violence reports all over central city && it didn’t take long to figure out what was happening. they also found out that it only worked when the meta came into direct contact with his victim’s skin. which must have happened somehow. barry was moving too fast to really notice how it happened exactly.
when he came back into focus, he realized what he’d done. immediately, he let go of the knife lodged in clara’s chest. he was horrified. how could he have done this to her? to clara, the woman he loved? her hand was shaking against his cheek, and he brought his eyes up to meet hers.
“ clara---- i’m so... i’m so sorry. clara, please. i-- no. no. you have to hang in there, okay? i’m calling caitlin. we’re going to get you patched up. ”
the knife was in her chest, but not through her heart, thankfully. maybe she still had a chance. she had to.
“ LISTEN, WINN, I JUST need you to cover for me for an hour or two. i’m doing some training today---- winn, answering the phones isn’t that hard. mrs. grant won’t even be in until this afternoon, she’s got meetings all morning-- yes, i will make it up to you. thank you, goodbye. ”
kara hung up her phone && shook her head, not seeing that she was about to bump into somebody. as soon as she did, she started to apologize.

it didn’t take barry very long to realize just how wrong everything was. his mother was alive && while that should have absolutely been good news, he discovered that he had no powers. he wasn’t the flash anymore. && if he wasn’t the flash that meant--- clara. clara could be anywhere. they met because he knew what she was going through with her powers. he helped her train, helped her gain control. if he wasn’t there---- what happened to her? she could be in danger. he ran (very slowly) to where she lived---- at least where she lived in his reality. maybe he’d be able to find a clue there as to where she was.
one gust of wind and a blur later, barry was in the STAR labs cortex. immediately, he turned on the news and motioned for clara to come over.
“ you’re on the news, and you have got to see what channel 52 is saying about you. ”
his attention was brought back to the news as they talked about central city’s newest hero.
( “ today, the flash saved central city from yet another meta human attack, but this time he had a partner. some have taken to calling her the raven mirage, due to what seems to be an ability to teleport..... ” )
“ the raven mirage---- i kind of like it, what do you think? ”
“Someone told me there was spaceship parts down here. Didn’t really believe them, but I figured it was worth checking out.” John said, pausing from nervously chewing on his fingers for a second. What he hadn’t counted on was how spooky it’d be in the basement. He definitely didn’t like this.
“I’m not sure I want to stay here…”
“Spaceship or no spaceship, I’m sure they were just pulling your leg, John.” Although she had to admit, she believed it too. That’s why she was down here with him, after all. She’s a bit hesitant, but after a moment, Clara reaches out to take one of John’s hands into her own.
“Come on then, let’s get out of here.”
The sudden hand wrapped around his own caused John to flinch violently. He hadn’t been expecting that, and his hand instinctively began to pull away - or, at least it did until until he heard a creak come from somewhere in the darkness of the cellar.
Instantly, his hand clamped down hard on Clara’s and John’s entire body tensed up. This wasn’t good. He couldn’t do this - sounds when he couldn’t see the source. He wasn’t a brave man, not when it came down to it; today was not the day John wanted to change that and face his fears.
Today was the day that Rose Tyler began a new chapter in her life. It’d been two whole years since she’d run into Clara Oswald, the school teacher when she was a teenager on the run. She’d been around fifteen or sixteen years old, and now she eighteen.
Now she had a flat of her own, and her younger brother Tony lived with her, after half of his childhood spent in care. And to support the two of them, Rose had taken on two jobs, this one being a part time assistant at the local high school where Tony now went too. She didn’t know what to expect with this job, but she was just glad that she had extra income coming in.
After dropping Tony off at the gates, Rose went inside to introduce herself to the receptionist, where she was told to wait for the headteacher. When he arrived, Rose shook his hand, and awkwardly enough, she was taken to the staff room to be introduced to the other teachers.
The headteacher cleared his throat to get there attention. “Everyone, this is Miss Tyler, she’ll be our new assistant. This morning you’ll be working with Mr Crosby in the Science department, and then this afternoon you’ll be with Miss Oswald in English. If you have any questions then you know where my office is.” Upon hearing the familiar name, Rose looked up in surprise, finding the same woman who helped her two years ago.
