Late night snack time? Late night snack time (thread continuation)
At the apologies, Raphael adjusted his glasses so they could not fall off his nose, before shrugging. "That's perfectly alright. The natural rhythm of a person is one that is subject to change - a slow tempo one day can easily become a more fast-paced one the next! Ah, but myself using musical terms for everything was not the point of this, I suppose." Laughing in that musical manner to the in-joking, there, the bespectacled student's face was quick to change back to that serious, almost pensive looking expression from before. This was indeed a serious topic and not one to be joked about.
"Oui, I don't think so - I know so. The smell of smoke and burning was what woke me up this morning...not the best smell to wake up to - and then when I got up, I saw and heard people rushing to the storage room to put the fires out. When I attempted to follow and aid in putting the fires out, though, they insisted they could handle it alone, demanding I go to the pool where it was safer with others. The storage room apparently wasn't the only place set ablaze, either, cherie...the cafeteria also had a fire started in it as well. I know the fires are out now, but people are determined to catch who was behind this, so...heading there right now isn't the wisest thing to do."
The last thing that Raphael wanted was for an innocent person - especially Aoi - to be targeted as the possible arsonist behind all these events, and even though Nate - Aoi's mon ami who he had seen briefly at the pool - seemed to disagree with him on most things, he felt that he would agree in keeping Asahina out of the 'potential suspect' range, at least!
However, the eventual turn of the seriousness to what was on his mind resulted in Raphael brightening, though. "Well, you see, cherie...after the horrid camp event, where I was unable to keep an eye on you...it got me to thinking. I want to be able to do my best to keep an eye on you no matter what, and an easier way to do that would be to ask to move to a room close to you. If...it's alright with you, cherie? That way, we could watch out for one-another better!"
Though, he wasn't going to ask if he could move into her room just yet. Maybe later, in time...this rhythm was too precious and special to ruin, and perhaps it was a reflection of that - that more words slipped by him, though he had intended at first to leave that sentence there.
"...That way, unlike in my past, I wouldn't have to worry about something bad happening to someone I care about, non."
Oh. Oh. He'd said that, huh?
Perhaps he was growing so accustomed to her being around that he was comfortable with spilling those...times in past. Which were still a little foggy, but remembered now, thanks to that island event so long ago. Truth be told, it felt...like a weight off his shoulders to confide in someone about it.
