hiiii I just read through your whole ditto rei AU tag and it was delightful finding out about all the extra lore!!! (I've followed history offers preservation on ao3 for a long while and thoroughly enjoyed it)

woah, hey hi!!! im glad you enjoyed my stuff!! the whole ditto rei thing is something ive really enjoyed developing and building off of, so its super nice to hear that people are still enjoying it c:

and i KNOW you specifically said that this isnt asking for an update or anything but i promise that there WILL be an update. Eventually. I've been having a lot of trouble picking up writing again but im still invested in developing rei's story and continuing what ive started. But genuinely this sort of thing makes me feel way more confident about eventually picking it back up- its been such a long time that I sometimes worry that everyone's given up on it. Knowing that theres at least one person still enjoying history offers preservation is a HUGE motivator, so thanks a ton for reaching out!!!!

joltik has been my fave pokemon since forever - it's so cute! it fits in your hand! it gives lil electric shock and shakes out its floof! when i fell into submas fandom and found many joltiks i was THRILLED

My daemon au! Lear’s daemon is a lion, and Cheren’s is a herding dog :)

Lear’s soul was laid right in front of them, curled up around the base of a tree. She breathed in and out deeply as if in sleep, but made none of the low snorts and snores of one truly asleep. With the twenty, maybe thirty feet between her and her human, Cheren wasn’t shocked that she couldn’t sleep. Arceus, it must feel like torture.

re. getting into Pokemon, it was actually my early days of reading fic on ff.net! Pokemon being one of the pieces of media that i recognised from the large fandoms. Saproneth's Ashes of The Past basically served as my primer on canon, haha

getting into submas it was Seito's Ash in Hisui series which introduced me to Ingo. i was curious to learn more about his backstory leading me eventually down another fandom rabbit hole :)

oh nice! there are so many pokemon fics out there and i haven't read many so i've never heard of Saproneth's Ashes of The Past, what is it about? 👀 the title alone sounds really interesting!

that actually makes me wonder... are they going to touch upon hisui in pokeani? it would be really cool to see ash and co actually go back into the past (annnnd see ingo there lol)

Oh wow, I thought everyone in the fandom had heard of Ashes of the Past! But I suppose not everyone is an anime-verse fan. It's basically a time-travel rewrite of the Anime where Ash goes back to the very beginning of his journey. Spanning all the way from Kanto to Sinnoh!

It's mostly humorous with some more serious bits around the movies. Not everyone's cup of tea but it is the most favorited Pokemon fic on ff.net.

Notably, it's more than 1.9mil words long and was written from 2011 to 2021. You can really see the writing quality improve over a decade!

whoa that's so long! i can only imagine that kind of dedication to a project, that's amazing! that sounds really interesting though, i might have to give it a peek! i don't know much about the anime verse past say like... gen 3 but that sounds like it could be a cool fic!
