Volo's heels being brought up again just made me want to know even more just how tall are they. If he's 6'3 WITHOUT them, how tall is he WITH them lmao? (I might need this info to know if a kinda silly idea for a drawing would work out or not and his height with the heels on is relevant)

i checked back on his reference to see exactly how i drew them because i couldn't remember too accurately LOL and then i looked at some heels online to see how that could translate to his shoes but i think honestly speaking i'd say between a 2-3 inch range (5cm-7.5cm I think?) so that would make him 6'5"-6'6" (I think 6'5" is a safe bet to say because DAMN this man is already tall enough ain't he LOL)

The whole artfight situation made me look at their rules and one thing that stood out to me is that they claim their reason for the nip censoring/filtering being US law obligating them to do so for F nips, so they require it for all for equality's sake. Yet, they don't actually mention which law they're talking about, which is something I think they should do for transparency. And, the funniest thing, is that the filter they require people to use for nips is their "moderate nudity" one, which minors have access to use, which feels a bit contradictory? And like their reason for it disingenuous?

oh that's really interesting about that censoring rule for that. I never looked too much into that one because I don't post anything there character or attack wise that would need that (i do remember the bit about it being for equality's sake tho) that is odd about the filter only being moderate... I forgot what's included in the other filters since I've never really used filters at all for any of my stuff but hm... sounds to me that would need some either re-review or extra clarification added (like for transparency like you mentioned), but maybe I'm also missing something there

so uhhhh... artfight can you explain to me exactly how you're gonna decide and determine that the drawing i made was traced from any of these things? what if i didn't trace it at all but you just blindly assume that i did because i drew, i dunno, a hand for example that could look like the hand in a random photo or that was posed with a 3d model?? how are ya gonna determine that there, hmm? curious minds want to know

I thought it would be a good time to talk about the mermaid au, at least what there is so far the mermaid being this guy of course :D and then we've got Ingo and Emmet, who are humble fisherman, likely residing in Humilau City. they take their catches to the local market, live a pretty humble but nice life, etc, etc one day Emmet comes across an injured mermaid (Volo) and decides he's gotta help. so he somehow gets him back home and sets up a tank for Volo to recover in. but there's two problems with this: one, mermaids and humans can't communicate with each other very well. two, Volo is incredibly distrusting of humans. Emmet does his best to try to get Volo to warm up to him, offers him nice fish meals (you can bet your flounder he can cook a great fish dish), tries to find a way to communicate, but it's really just a shitshow. Ingo isn't so on board with any of this, either. it's clear to him that this is way too much for them to handle, they're way in over their heads, and he becomes thoroughly convinced of that when Emmet ends up getting poisoned by Volo (Volo's fins having venomous properties and such)

Emmet reluctantly agrees that, yeah, this is too much for them to handle, so that's when they both decide that they need to send Volo to a facility that can help heal/rehabilitate mermaids… and, as luck would have it, there is one! a group called the Aether foundation runs one close by. so yay! they send Volo there, knowing he's in good hands, he can heal properly, return to the ocean and continue to live his happy mermaid life.

except… well… let's say that the Aether facility… isn't the paradise it makes itself out to be, not the best place for mermaids to be well cared for and to recover… Lusamine really wants mermaids in order to unlock secret properties they hold and yeah just… not a good place for poor ol' Volo. he goes through some Bad Things (tm) there... and it makes him realize that, well... maybe Emmet wasn't so bad. Emmet was honestly trying to help Volo and that helps Volo to see that... maybe he can trust Emmet. so, he thinks of a way to escape. and that's all there is so far! maaaaaybe more come in the future? 👀
