Katrina Nare as Dr. Veronica Cyr in DOOM ANNIHILATION – 2019
@katrinanare
hey, remember Doom Annihilation? apparently it had a pretty kickass design for its “Demon Overlord”, and lemme just say: it is a shame that they wasted this design on, well, Doom Annihilation. here’s to hoping it gets salvaged in a new doom game.
If they ever think about attempting to adapt DOOM to the big screen again, it should be a first person only (a-la Hardcore Henry) action horror directed by Sam Raimi
That's the BFG-9000. I've only ever read about it, never actually seen one. Of course, no Marine calls it that. What do they call it? The Big Fucking Gun. DOOM: Annihilation (2019)
Doom: Annihilation (2019)
A group of marines are sent to a base experimenting with an alien teleport device but find carnage and monsters when they arrive.
The pace of this film was better than expected, maintaining a relative level of interest throughout by alternating between dialogue scenes and action scenes and jumping from each pair of characters after they split up. The acting was ok although nothing spectacular; the performers mainly got the drama across and didn’t let the realism down too noticeably.
It’s odd that when choosing a game franchise to adapt the producers chose Doom rather than a game with a plot. There is a basic narrative to the film but it’s mainly just getting from A to B without being killed, then finding a new place to get to. There are few surprises, just fairly predictable narrative shifts and no clear connection to the previous Doom film.
Some of the effects were good because they were practical and the action didn’t rely entirely on CGI as some creature features with a low budget try to do. The monsters looked fairly good, although not especially original. There was some basic level characterization, mainly centred on the main character, but it was surface level and the flashbacks looked like the ones from Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
The Doom game has quite a wide variety of creatures, some of the fan art of which are really quite interesting and detailed. This film however only has two monsters so it’s not a great reflection of the franchise. The ending was very unsatisfying because it’s open-ended and basically just fails to resolve the main threat from the entire film.
3/10 -This one’s bad but it has some good in it, just there-
-The AI, Daisy, was named after the pet of Doom guy from the games.
-One of the dead scientists is called John Carmack, named after one of the creators of the games. A scientist also had this name in the earlier Doom film in 2005.
-The name of the protagonist, Joan Dark, is a play on the name Joan of Arc.
Doom Annihilation
So I'm watching the new Doom movie and I'm a huge fan of the series but here's what I'm going through
No one likes Dark
The old man, cool man
Ah shit this is how you get demons
doom annihilation (2019) would be better if veronica and joan kissed :/
Since doom eternal has now released I would like to do something ive been meaning to do for a whole month.
And that is Shit talk the Movie Doom Annihilation
You see i am a new fan to the series only just started playing the originals but have fully enjoyed what I've seen
Now then the shit stain that is Annihilation
1st: I saw the CGI in this Movie and thought it was like made years ago then I read its release date (2019) and about chucked my laptop. Not to mention.... WHY DID THE DEMONS AND ZOMBIES LOOK LIKE THAT.
They were blue
BLUE
The acting was shitty save the nerdy guy and the head scientist. Can we also point out the only black male in this movie was an aggressive guy who dies very early. Also I get this stupid shpeel about powerful female characters but like Why make a female lead in a series with DOOM GUY. Like the lady was a shitty character who's personality changes dramatically between emotional female to emotionless badass. Like She can be both at the same time. But like Doom Guy. He is A tough guy who had a pet rabbit. He almost never speaks but people guess his personality. A decent human male with a good heart. Sure he is a bad ass with god like powers but DAISY. His PET Rabbit.
Like this movie just sucked
