@doppelschwarz plotted for a starter!
Chuuya stared at the dusty papers before him.
They smelt strongly of smoke, and the thought came to the dazed mind of the executive, that some year or two after Mori took over, they did have a fire in the archives. What was that the Boss said then? That they had to start destroying the documents sooner or later..?
And yet this... this hasn’t been destroyed. And was right now held in Chuuya’s gloved hands, before being shakily folded and slipped under his jacket. On his way out of the archives, he summoned his most trusted squad members for an emergency meeting; they had to act fast. Chuuya walked quickly down the corridors; it all started to make sense to him now. Mori’s ascend. Dazai’s constant injuries. His quick raise to the executive rank. Mori’s only mistake, ever, that resulted in Dazai being driven away...
...no, not driven away, was he? He has been banished... was Dazai truly running away because he has had enough, or was he scared back then? Scared that, if this push didn’t work, Mori would push harder; push by killing more of his friends, perhaps...? And that bomb in his car, the bomb that had no chance of killing him... Was it a sign screaming of their hate, so that Mori won’t try to hurt him..?
Chuuya clenched his fists, shaking the thoughts out of his head. No, he needed to focus. He had work to do.
The members of Armed Detective Agency left the office one by one; Dazai was either not there by now, or the only one there. Chuuya sighed, pushing himself off of his hiding place and sneaking into the building. Who’d have thought that the waste of bandage would stay late the one time Chuuya needed him to. How sweet of him.
He didn’t meet with any disturbances, any guards, any protective systems - no wonder Port Mafia was able to raid the place so often before, these people had no idea how to keep themselves safe. And to think that Dazai himself was staying here... knowing whom he was, Chuuya felt a shudder of dread run down his spine.
The fucking idiot! Putting himself in danger like that...
The door opened, and he saw the back of Dazai’s head as the raven stretched, mumbling something about being almost ready with the report, no need to check on him... only to stop dead in his tracks when he turned, seeing Chuuya standing in the door. For the smallest moment, they stared at one another, azure eyes locked with chocolate ones, before Chuuya took off his hat, dropping to his knee; two of his personal guard, tall, serious men suits behind him following after him.
“...why didn’t you ever tell me... Boss?” he said quietly, looking up once more.
