Rumour has it you're afraid of lint rollers.... Care to make a comment about that?
“Tch, why would I care to comment on something so stupid~,” his tone is nonchalant, though he very much wants to share some choice words with a certain fae ( @dorakonia ) for having loose lips. The asshole. As if he’d be scared of some dumb gadget that the guy probably didn’t even know existed before yesterday!
*he nudges tiredly at him* You're on my part of the bed.
It takes the other a couple nudges for the slumbering lion to actually come to, giving a tired groan and yawn. A beat of silence passes before he registers the other’s words, emerald eyes finally falling open to meet equally tired and clearly annoyed eyes squinting at him. Despite the darkened room, it was easy to see that their positions had shifted, Leona easily noting how close ones of the bedposts and Malleus’s side table was to them.
Looking over his shoulder, it was clear that Malleus wasn’t exagerrating. Leona had somehow forced the fae towards the ledge of the large bed, the other’s arm mere centimeters from dangling over the edge. It likely didn’t help that the beastman’s arm and leg were sprawled over the other, pinning him down in place and making it quite difficult for the fae to escape his grasp if he so wished.
It’d become a bad habit on his side since moving to the castle, the chill in the rooms just enough to make the lion shiver and want to stay close to the fae in hopes of stealing his warmth. Blankets helped of course, though he much preferred staying close to Malleus. Still, he didn’t think it would result in him hogging the blankets, the fae, AND the bed for himself.
He groaned again, quite comfortable in his current position, but doubting Malleus would like ending up on the floor before morning came. “We need a bigger bed,” he grumbled, scooting back towards his side of the bed, and dragging along Malleus (and his special pillow) with him. No sooner had he done this, did he slot himself back against Malleus’s side, draping an arm over his midsection to keep him close. It was almost as if Malleus hadn’t even woken him, Leona gone to the world in mere seconds as his breathing slowed and evened once more.
With the summer coming to a definite end and the fall reaching its peak of the season, the celebrations of this year’s Halloween was drawing nearer and nearer. Even though there was bound to be some kind of festivities occurring at the school and even though Malleus would happily participate, he couldn’t help but wonder how things were back at home around this time. A part of him even missed his own annual duties associated with the holiday, quite blue to the realization that he wouldn’t be able to carry those out for the people of Briar Valley. It wasn’t exactly much he had to do really, but still - not doing it after so many years felt a bit strange. Moreover, him lighting up every single lantern at school wasn’t exactly something he had to do, nor did he want to do such a thing. He truly had, without a doubt, no reason whatsoever to do that...
... So in order to get rid of this strange feeling of doing nothing of importance around this time of year, the fae came up with a small solution. As the evening came and the sky turned dark, Malleus appeared in Kingscholar’s bedroom at Savanaclaw - not bothering to announce his visit beforehand as he had been told before. “ ... ” He looked around the empty room, his eyes catching sight of a door he assumed lead to the bathroom when he heard muffled noises coming from within. Assuming that the Savanaclaw dorm leader was in there, Malleus didn’t exactly feel inclined to bother him. He’d make this a quick visit anyhow.
Turning towards the desk, he stepped up to it, moved over a couple of papers and other trinkets to make place for what appeared to be an intricate and carefully carved wooden lantern in the shape of a lion’s head. It wasn’t much, and he certainly wasn’t sure if it would be as appreciated as it was back home, but at the very least he felt a little bit fulfilled. He made a motion of his finger in the air to light the lantern with magic, and as lime hues lingered on the sight of it he took a step back to make his own leave. However, before he could leave he heard the bathroom door open behind him. With his person blocking the view of the lantern on the desk, Malleus glanced over his shoulder to catch the familiar sight of Leona, cleared his throat with a brief cough as he parted his lips to speak. “ ... I know it’s late, and I assume you are getting ready to retire to bed, so I’m not going to linger for too long, ” The fae explained as he took a step aside to reveal what he had left on the desk - the wooden lantern emitting a soothing and calming light. “ In the spirit of Halloween, I have left something for you to enjoy.~ ”
Despite being well aware the holiday was coming up, Leona was never quite ready for the arrival of Halloween. Or at least, the tiring part that came with being housewarden and prepping for the festivities of campus.
It was all the more reason he was content to back in his room once it was all said and done, his costume only remaining on him long enough to make it to the bathroom before it was stripped off. A long soak was all he wanted, making it quite clear to Ruggie that he shouldn’t be disturbed lest the hyena wanted an earful.
His peace lasted for all of a few minutes before he felt a shift in the atmosphere, sharp, emerald eyes snapping open in annoyance. He was about to yell at the intruder from within the bathtub, when he suddenly picked up on the familiar scent of the fae. The realization made him pause, irritation replaced with confusion and curiosity for the sudden visit. Sure, Leona had told Malleus he could come visit if he so wished to, but he didn’t think tonight would be a chosen day for the other.
The rustling of paper is what finally prompted him to get out of the tub, pulling the drain stopper out to free the now lukewarm water. He didn’t bother taking down his hair from its bun, instead wrapping a towel securely around his waist before draping another one over his shoulders to step out into the next room.
Malleus was exactly where Leona expected him to be, lingering by his desk with something in front of him giving a faint glow. Leona quirked a brow at the sight, resting a hand on his waist and waiting for the other to explain himself. Thankfully, the other didn’t need to be prompted, answering the unspoken question and taking a step to the side to reveal what he meant.
Leona’s gaze went from the other’s back to the wooden lion lantern now resting on his desk, taking a few steps to stand by Malleus. Surprise was evident in his gaze as he got a closer look, recognizing the intricate design of the lantern that looked all the more hauntingly elegant with a soft, green glow.
Had Malleus really brought him this? But why? What could he gain from gifting Leona something like this today of all nights? He’d heard in Briar Valley, these were common for the locals to celebrate with, though their significance had been lost to him at the moment. Perhaps it was from the shocked state he was in, lips parting in silent awe before shutting as his gaze briefly flicked to Malleus then the lion’s head.
He remained quiet for a moment, seemingly mesmerized by its light before raising a single digit towards it. Just as it seemed his finger would make contact with the wooden surface, his nail grew longer into a sharp claw as it reached the lion’s left brow. Firmly yet slowly, the claw dragged down the wood, Leona carving a scar over the left eye reminiscent of the King of Beasts own scar. A smile finally spread on his lips once he finished, his nail retracting as he gave a hum in satisfaction. “Now I do~ ...thanks,” he finally offered, the smile lingering as he looked over to the other, only to look away when he realized he was showing Malleus just how content the kind gesture had made him.
He cleared his throat as well, placing his hand atop the lantern to rotate it slightly as he looked it over. “You know, usually the one visiting gets the treat. Not the other way around. I didn’t even make one of these for you...” Could Malleus even count as a trick-or-treater? Sure. Leona was feeling generous today after all. “How about some kisses~,” he suggested, finally recovering from the initial surprised fluster of earlier as his playful smile returned.
He didn’t give Malleus a chance to answer before he turned away briefly to open the desk’s top drawer. From within, he pulled out a basket in the shape of a jack-o-lantern. Inside, there were dozens of colorful chocolate kisses alongside some random other candies mixed in. At the top of the mound of candy, sat a significantly larger green chocolate kiss, seemingly having been saved by someone for someone in particular.
“I had other types earlier, but most of the kids got to them first,” he explained, looking up to find the other’s gaze. “Hope you don’t mind it... for now~” After all, he wasn’t about to accept such a generous gift as a wooden lantern and only pay Malleus back with some candy.

Aaaand no one was surprised. But a lot of quality time together for them to have a chance?? "Tch, as if. I already have to put up with him in class." And that one time in detention, but that's another issue altogether.
He has already given him a SINGLE boop... but he figures giving him a boop-of-a-reminder should be in order.~
@dorakonia
He would think so, and yet Leona is one step ahead of him as he takes the fae's hand before the digit can reach his nose. He pulls the other closer, seemingly leaning in to deliver a kiss, only for the beastman to change course and playfully nip at his bottom lip instead.
"And who said you could do that?~" Oh no, Malleus would have to try harder than that if he wanted to get any form of revenge after the onslaught of boops he'd delivered before. He shouldn't let his guard down either; there was plenty more where that came from~
“ Hello there, dearest, how do you feel about joining me for lunch today? ”
@dorakonia
The other's voice is enough to pull him from his thoughts as Leona floats along the sky standing on his broom. From way up here, he can't hear Vargas barking at the other students to go higher into the air. Emerald eyes finally fall to Malleus as the other floats closer to him atop his own broom, both seemingly taking their gym class as a brief break from their busy days.
A subtle smile tugs at his lips when the fae's words register, the beastman floating closer (and slightly higher) than Malleus. He hadn't quite grown used to the endearments the other would use on him, though neither did they bother him as they had earlier on in their relationship. "...Lunch huh. Why wait when we could head over now?~," he teases, now close enough that he was but mere inches from the other.
Malleus quirked a brow at the suggestion with a stern look, clear as day he wasn't particularly pleased with Leona's suggestion. It was a worth a shot though. How often was it that he could tempt the fae into playing hooky when the opportunity arose.
A chuckle escape his lips, shrugging as he floats around Malleus like a lion circling it's prey. "What? It's not like anyone wou-"
"You two! Up there! Enough chatter and come down! We're starting the next exercise!," came Vargas's sudden voice, ringing through the sky and making his ears pin back in irritation.
"...So loud," he grumbles, shooting a glare down at the professor before sighing as he glances back over at his boyfriend. An idea comes to mind then, not quite content with ending their exchange so abruptly.
"Hey, how about this; last one down has to plan our next outing~," he challenges with a playful glint in his eyes before he's diving back down towards the ground at breakneck speeds, used to flying with wild abandon from playing Magift. Let's hope the other was able to keep up with him~
“ So, I found out about this thing called 'hawk tuah'... Are you familiar with it? ”
@dorakonia
"No," he answers almost instantly, not bothering to look up from his chessboard. Actually, he did know what that was, but he wasn't about to encourage whatever madness Malleus had managed to get swept into.
"Come play against me instead of researching those type of things," he counters, finally glancing over to the other and making a vague beckoning gesture with a flick of his tail. "Or are you scared you'd lose~"
