today is a special day as somebody asked if my violin was a viola and I cried out of joy and also fear because I was then approached by an old man who asked if it was a tuba

You know you’re an orchadork when you recognize songs from Olympic figure skating performances
my latest obsession is D.O's freakin adorable GOOD ENGLISH OTL ;A;
Fun Fact: I prefer to play harmony instead of the melody on my violin
I mean, the melody is nice and all. you know, it's like "Yeah! I'm the leader!" kind of thing, but I don't feel like there's enough reason to do it when there's already people singing the melody in the choir. (Although it has saved us a few times when people couldn't figure out the notes. xD)
However, there's something so much more interesting about playing harmony. I feel like I'm REALLY contributing to the piece and adding more dimension to it. It can be a bigger pain in the butt to learn, practice, and perform it, but I'd definitely choose playing harmony over a melody. At least in my choir. It might be a different story if I ever join an orchestra.
This is why I seem to love cellists, violists, and second violinists more.
