i think partly why people don't like nick wagner is because that dude is awkward as hell. making gifs, i'm sat here watching his face on loops, and i can clearly see when he's involving himself in cases and working with his subordinates, he's sooo. freaking. awkwarddd.

like, this dude probably never wanted to be captain. if what karadec theorized in the last episode is true and wagner was taken out of the field and put behind a desk, than that man absolutely doesn't want to be captain and he's doing the best he can.

So, I mainly just want to vent about this, yet another situation where my gif is stolen and the person doesn't want to take accountability. (It's long af btw.)

I spotted this fics and what do you know. There is one of my gifs, (the bottom one) and no shoutout or tag for crediting me in sight.

and before I call people out, I do my due diligence and make sure I'm not tripping by comparing size, color and the content of the gif. Sometimes I even ask a friend to make sure I'm not seeing shit. I made a calling out comment and the reposter responded. This gif happens to be on my other blog stephendorff, which is where the conversation took place.

Exactly the-fucking-same. Same size, quality, same frame rate, same amount of frames, same coloring. Now I can believe that someone can have the same quality, same frame rate, the amount of frames in a gif by sheer coincidence, but the one thing I don't believe is getting the exact same fucking COLORING. Now here's a screen grab from the movie:

To any gif maker mutuals who have taken the time to read this rant, I'm sure that you've noticed how WARM that scene is. See, the way I see it, gifmakers have at least one thing that makes them stand out from others, and that is their Coloring. That is exactly how time and time again I'm able to tag gifmakers (even ones i'm not mutuals with!!) about posts that have stolen their gifs, because I recognize their work and most times it's because of their coloring.

And I know my fucking coloring. I don't like heavy warmth in my gifs and I suck it right out to the max, where sometimes my shit looks dull af, but that's how I like it. This user is not about to lie to me and say they made the gif they put in their fic on a website like ezgif and get the same exact result as I did in Photoshop. 🤬

I tried to recreate my gif, without coloring just to prove how the movie looks naturally without coloring, and it also brought up another point of contention for me:

The distance of where Jake is placed, is off. There is no fucking way they managed to get the same placement of Jake & close up that I did!! There is no fucking way!! I'm so exhausted by people lying and not doing the simplest thing by crediting!!! 😤🤬

everyone complaining about capt. wagner causing chaos for the team, what an asshole he is for "costing" morgan's job, undermining soto, etc, etc

he's feeling them out. that man is purposely testing every single member of that team, and i think he's testing them for their character. how far they will go not just for the job, but in life. when wagner says that he wants to know his team and not have secrets kept from him--- that man means it down. to. the. bone. he has repeatedly said (mainly to karadec) that he doesn't want secrets and people are overlooking that aspect of his character.

i haven't made an opinion on what his deal is with morgan, but i'm sure he is testing her character too. i'm still catching up this season & ep 10 is paused so i can type this-- i assume that he's testing morgan on how much she wants and likes her job. i think he wants her loyalty not just for the LAPD as a whole, but he wants unwavering loyalty to major crimes. she risked her job to solve a case and i bet that has a huge fucking checkmark next to a piece of criteria on his list.

i mean, come onnnnn!!! the way he smiled at the end of soto's verbal lashing and said ' understood ' --- that man is fucking proud that soto has the balls to talk to him like that, to take that opportunity that he offered her, not caring if she got fired says very high things about her character. when she basically demanded him to fire her for standing up for herself and her team, wagner loved it. his first day he showed up and took over her office, wagner was taking her power and now soto has taken it back and he wanted that for her ugggh !

i don't deny that there is something wrong with him (cause def there is), but he's playing a very smart game. i love it. he's handing them character development on a platter!! wagner def deserves more respect in the fandom.

as fun as the idea is that capt wagner has something to do with roman, i don't think that's the case. the end of ep 10 when soto brings him into the roman loop, it's set up in a way to make you feel like wagner can be a bad guy. soto handing him a envelope of pictures, wagner being suprised by them, soto gives him a veiled threat about protecting the team no matter the danger while looking accusingly at wagner then demanding that he will be supporting her gives that impression. ok

but with morgan being fired, and wagner putting each detective through the wringer to test them, and him taking over cases-- i mean he has put them in danger but i don't think he's dangerous. i don't think her threat is meant for him aggressively, i think was more lighthearted. she just wants him to respect her within the chain of command. i don't think this ep is good evidence that wagner is a potential threat to morgan's roman case. i could be absolutely wrong, but that's my take away.
