Gay people being bitter. I need to draw Prim and Dorian more, their dynamic is something I’ve really been exploring the deeper details of, beyond just “they’re exes”.
Guess who’s finally getting a concrete design! Dorian’s a character I honestly don’t give enough love. I think he deserves a bit more attention this year. Will I keep my word? I dunno. But here he is.
Thought y’all deserved a lore drop regarding these two and their breakup, featuring one of my all time favorite songs.
So… Dorian has severe issues with emotion and how he handles it, both his own and others. Prim on the other hand, is very in tune with his emotions and expresses them in any way he can.
Because of Dorian’s low tolerance for big emotional displays, he was actually quite scared of Prim and his feelings. But, he never communicated such. So, Dorian did what he usually does when confronted with discomfort. He got up and left.
As for Prim, he was too lost in love to really see how much he was overwhelming Dorian. And the lack of communication made things even more difficult, until it was over.

The new and improved Dorian Bathory, in all his deadpan glory. I’ve been meaning to revamp him a bit! Hope you like it.
For those who are new to him, Dorian is a major character in Life Itself; he’s an accomplished pianist who expresses himself through art and music, as he finds it difficult to do so through words and social cues, given his perpetually stoic expression. He’s also the adopted son of a woman named Ivory Bernadette Bathory, an eccentric Irish countess with mysterious ties to Klaus’s family.

I’m updating Dorian’s design a little because I feel like his current one is a bit lackluster, so I’ll be posting his new look here soon!
I also might share some of the lore I have for him because I don’t think I’ve really showed y’all much of his role beyond the fact that he’s Prim’s ex. Dorian’s actually a pretty major character in Life Itself aside from his ties to Prim, so I wanna show you guys more of him as a character!
INKTOBER DAY NINE: IB
I have yet to actually play Ib, but the overall aesthetic made me think of Dorian! And since Dorian’s canonically a painter, I think it’s a match made in heaven.
I love Dorian so much, I need to give him more focus in the story😭😭😭
