Pre-party preparation at the venue was a little rough because of another large event Fashion Week party surrounding around our reserved space. The influx of people going to the other event was so great that our guests experienced long lines at the door and congested elevators. However, we had the best he good friend and MIT classmate Kamil Gedeon. He manned the main entrance, clearing up any confusion our guests may have encountered.

The energy in the party was phenomenal. I was reunited with so many people that I haven't seen in years, and introduced to some amazing friends of Dylon and Dorian, my co-collaborators for the event.

We partied until we were kicked out.

The success of the event was both compelling and humbling. We took huge risks to trend in unfamiliar water, and the result couldn't have been more fulfilling. We collectively raised over $2500 to key programs such as Minority Introduction to Engineering & Science within MIT's office of Engineering Outreach and Programming.It is truly a testament to the creativity and innovation of my peers. Hopefully we laid the foundation for other young alums to engage this particular cause for future events.

We have to do this again. And I think we will.

Dat's gift for my party

Folks been asking about my birthday plans this year. Well, I have decided to do something I have never done before... with Dorian Dargan (@dargandargan) and Dylon R Rockwell (@therockofd). Its about to be huge. Stay tuned and save the date.

I had the great honor of serving as 1 of 10 (yes, 10) groomsmen. I was reunited with old classmates from MIT and introduced to new friends. I met relatives on both sides of the family and ate really good food. I cried many tears of joy along the way and drank merrily each and every night. I had a blast!

Using only my iPhone, I captured some amazing shots with an app called VSCO Cam™. The app, by the way, is simply brilliant. For all of my photographers, its like having a mobile version of Adobe Lightroom. I tried to capture moments that created a memorable story leading up to and deeply immersing within the big day—using the F2/Mellow and B1/BW Classic filter.

I am truly grateful have shared this once in a lifetime moment. At the reception, I thought to myself, "this feels like the first day of the rest of my life". And after my partner Ariel Belgrave caught the bouquet towards the end of the reception ceremony, I have a feeling that may be the case.
