Dorian goes red around the ears, avoiding the elf's gaze. Lavellan barks a laugh, but quickly tries to cover it up by pressing his hand over his mouth. His eyes still peer back at him across the table, crinkled with obvious glee.

"Do other people even say it, back in Tevinter? Or did you pull it from some old book?"

The blush spreads from Dorian's ears to his cheeks, and Lavellan looses the battle against hiding how much he's enjoying this.

"I didn't-that isn't," Dorian sputters indignantly, trying to save face. Lavellan reaches over to take his hand, tangling their fingers together.

"Oh, vhenan," he coos sweetly between fading giggles. "Don't be embarrassed. I think it's sweet, really. I always know just how you feel by the way you say my petname."
