I have finally completed my (late) entry for Dorian Week! Does this apply to Day 4: Moments of Respite or Day 7: What Comes After. How about both? @dorianweek
Inquisitor Aiden Lavellan surprises Dorian at home during a trip to Minrathous, giving them both a much needed night of peace and comfort.

i thought this would be a quick and simple one when i started it last night. i said to @in-the-drowning-deep at one point today "I haven't greyed them yet but trust that's next" and instead spent the next hour entirely redesigning dorian's robe so he could serve more cunt. i then said to her "i might save time by like. using a floral pattern from the interwebs for their robes instead of drawing one" and then I zoned out and when I came to I had. hand-drawn a pattern. which. it's the background and also both of their robes because i didn't do all that to use it in one spot. but also why did i do all that. the world may never know.
anyways zoom in on renan's hand. it's not rendered like the rest of the skin bc i liked how the chunky paint strokes looked and it's 11pm and i am 2 tired 2 care about consistency.
but I FINISHED THE WHOLE WEEK WOO! and with (checks watch) 52 mins to spare! i've never done a fanweek before (is that the general term for them?) and i'm really proud of myself for finishing it out !!!! so here's my old men !!!! having a calm morning together !!!!!

I'm terribly late for Day 4 (Moments of Respite) of @dorianweek, but I couldn't get this out of my head. This is just a ficlet (can I call it drabble?) full of fluff and feelings.

Summary: Dorian is so engrossed in his book that he doesn't notice the Inquisitor appearing close to him with a book of his own. The most vexing thing is that Dorian starts to feel things he hadn't allowed himself for a long time.

Dorian looked up from his book and froze.
There was a familiar weight on his lap and chest. A warm body of the Inquisitor, who made himself comfortable reclining on Dorian. Dark chestnut hair tickled the mage's neck, while faint green light illuminated the text in front of Dionysios. Usually the Tevinter found it amusing how the latter found unconventional uses for the ancient magic in his hand, but now he couldn't even focus on that.
It wasn't surprising to find the Inquisitor here, they were in his quarters, on his bed, after all. But the only scenario where Dionysios joined him in bed that Dorian could come up with in his mind involved no books or clothes and a lot of physical communication. Yet instead of commanding attention to himself the Inquisitor had quietly slipped onto his lap and covered them both with a blanket while Dorian was engrossed in his reading. The younger mage had a romance novel he attentively studied at that moment.
The Tevinter was panicking. How was he supposed to react? Was this "more" they had been talking about? His heart fluttered, spreading warmth through his chest. Dionysios turned a page, while Dorian's throat became constricted with a feeling he hadn't dared to name since he was sixteen. It was overwhelming, his eyes suddenly clouded and he heard a sob...
'Dorian!' the man in his lap threw his head back. Big brown eyes were filled with worry. 'Is something wrong? Have your legs become numb because of me?'
'All's splendid, of course,' the Tevinter tried to answer nonchalantly. Why did his voice croak? How did his cheeks become wet?
'I wouldn't call it convincing,' Dionysios carefully turned, placing his arms around Dorian. 'Something's bothering you.' After a flick of his fingers there was a handkerchief in his hands, which he used to wipe the other mage's tears. 'And I'm here to make it easier.'
It didn't help, tears kept running down his cheeks. The Tevinter squeezed the Inquisitor's waist.
'It's all your fault, you impossible man,' he tried to put his chin up. 'You can't just cosily sit on my lap, gently wipe my tears, gaze at me with your doe eyes, it's outright indecent.' There was no dignity left to save when he let out a loud sniff.
'What did you expect from the leader of a heretical organisation?' Dionysios chuckled. 'High regard for rules of etiquette?' Suddenly his lips were upon Dorian's with a languid kiss, soft and tender. It must have been some secret magic, because the Tevinter finally relaxed into the embrace. The Inquisitor's care felt right and real.
'Kissing it better, my favourite type of healing,' the younger man had a wide grin on his face. 'Now, will you let me get back to my reading?'
'Of course not, Nionios,' Dorian tightened his grasp on the Inquisitor's waist with a matching face expression, 'I lured you into an evil Tevinter trap, so you'll have to cuddle with me and kiss me forever.' He surely didn't properly think about these words before saying them.
'Evil? I'd call it a dream come true,' Dionysios' eyes were shining with affection. He kissed the older mage again. The latter couldn't help but pull him even closer.
Forever.
This word escaped the walls around his heart, jumping straight into Dionysios' ears. Rationally he knew this was impossible — they were doomed to die or be thrown apart by political forces. But the hope that appeared somewhere in the warmth inside his chest, in the sound of the other man's voice, in their mutual laughs, was stubbornly persistent.
