transgender rights golden cheese cookie
burning spice cookie's destruction is, yes, due to his nihilism, but i see it as him trying to take control (feeling powerless to the cycle of change). he is sick of his own passivity; although civilizations erect themselves and then fall again, nothing truly changes. the nature of cookiekind is stagnant, they err in the same ways over and over, and that leaves him feeling impotent.
destruction is cathartic and disruptive. he tries to defy the cycle of change by ending it, for if there is nothing left, nothing can prosper nor wither. (and i guess, to relieve himself of his responsibility as the Herald of Change)
golden cheese tries to take control in a different way, via the Golden City. she's in complete denial; as long as she can lock herself within Golden City in its digitized, forever stagnant form, she can avoid confronting the decimation of her kin, and convince herself everything is fine (good even!!!). she tries to avoid the cycle of change (better put, her loss) by constructing an idyllic illusion and secluding herself within it, basically.
she only closes the Golden City and ventures beyond her kingdom after she confronts the fact that she will lose everything dear to her if she doesn't.
i guess a difference between the two in this respect is that golden cheese cookie grows to accept the cycle of change - the passage of time with all the loss that comes with - and that burning spice cookie in all his nihilism is unable.
uhh. how to end this. uhmmm yeah. i like how their stories & character themes tie into each other's a lot. and also they're cute. here's two (2) cute images.
crappy screenshot but i really liked this frame. the clouds are so vibrant and wispy... fantastic!
are you serious.
he's been got! i like his idle animations. they're cute but annoying to capture. i'd have to record him on my phone like some kind of wildlife videographer... i don't have the space, much less the patience! that being said, i did GIF his defeat animation, so here you go!
ALSO! since they're not on the fan wiki yet (at the time of writing), i transcribed the in-battle interactions that millennial tree cookie has (that i know of! but i think these are all of them?)

quality is caca. but his face is very cute here. unlike a certain beast whose ugly scary face is being obscured
seriously what is this. eugh. yuck! just nasty, put that thing away.
observation that's doubtlessly been made before
