‪At 18 Eren is starting to grow facial hairs, but he’s not paying much attention to his own looks anyway so he doesn’t even notice.

Levi, who’s always watching him, notices a darker spot on his face, near Eren’s upper lip, and he unconsciously reaches out to clean the smudge off. But it’s not food, or dried blood, and he ends up just pressing his thumb over Eren’s lip basically and everything is so...awkward at first — when he realizes it’s just facial hairs.

Eren is confused and a bit flustered. Levi recovers from the blunder by offering to teach him how to shave. ‬

“No. No listen. We’re supposed to NOT let the enemy spot us, Akutagawa-kun. We can’t just run in there and—” And he was gone. Why was it that every time those two were put on a mission together, Atsushi always ended up running after his partner? In the end they always succeeded, which was all that mattered, but did they have to go through this every damn time?

A heavy sigh left the man-tiger’s lips and, with a shake of his head, he got up from his spot behind one of the bigger trees, ready to make his way over to where Akutagawa was already in the middle of a fight.

Once it was over, Atsushi brushed some dust off his clothes (his shirt was ruined, great) before staring at his partner. They had completed the mission, but it could have been a lot easier had they kept with the original plan. “You owe me dinner for this, you know.”
