Barry squeaked, waving his arms.

“Wait! He’s not all that bad! Don’t believe everything you hear!!” He cleared his throat.

“He’s really not so bad. I mean, yeah, he’s kind of….quirky, but not in a bad sorta way, you know? Danny just thinks differently than others.”

Danny picked up Barry, a smirk on his face.

“I’m glad you feel that way. I, for one, say that I am very dangerous, but that doesn’t mean I’m dangerous to you, dear.” He raised his eyebrows at you. “You have nothing to be afraid of as long as you don’t get me angry.”

Are Ross and Barry actually affiliated with either group, or are they more neutral? (Absolutely in love with this AU by the way :3)

Ross sighed, leaning back against the tree. “We don’t play for either side, young wanderer. We play for who will keep us alive longer. Sometimes it’s Hatter. Sometimes it’s the Court. Call us selfish, but it’s true.”

Barry nodded, perched on his shoulder. “Why play for only one side when you can dip your toes in and play for both? Cause more of a chaos.”

“And that’s why we’re partners, Bar.” Ross’ smirk grew wider. “Don’t let us affect your decision, darling. You still have to make a choice. It’s up to you now.”
