Day 29: Mental/Spiritual Representation I think a (shadow) Deer is the perfect representation, not only because of the Nara but also it’s also fitting with shikako‘s personality (and summons :3)

DoS: Day 13 Jinchuriki

So my thought going into this was to make a sketch one might see along side the reports of the exams, kinda like a court room sketch, but you know... for ninja fights.

I kind of want to write on it like a magazine cover, like “The host of the Ichibi was seen offering assistance to Konohagakure’s secret seal master after their battle”. Or, “ Leaf Village seal master walks away not only unscathed from her confrontation with the Sunagakure jinchuriki, but also with the respect of the murderous Ichibi host.” Or perhaps the classic ‘Scandal’. I can’t make it look good but it’s funny to think of it like the ninja gossip rag.

(On a personal note, this is the first time I’ve ever done this kind of style so I’d love some feedback. Also in general I am still learning about digital media and would appreciate constructive criticism and advise so that I might improve)

In a ship far from the nearest life giving star, Bant Eerin dies. 

She dies far from the waters Mon Cala where she was born. She dies far from the soothing hum of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. She dies far from nearly everything which might give her comfort.

Nearly everything. Until she jettisons dearest Yoshino away to save her padawan’s life.

Bant Eerin dies far from the nearest life giving star, and in her Force sense–weakening and flickering as she does–the sunshine that is her closest bond stretches and drifts and fades.

(You will be an amazing jedi knight. I am proud of you.)

On a planet that burns under the heat of two suns, Obi-Wan Kenobi regrets.

The wind and the sand and the decades erode what little bravado he has left. There is no use for hubris in the desert. Honor has long ago been whittled down, and in the unending cycle of survival, nostalgia will only weigh him down.

But regrets are abundant, a consolation of sorts: a way to remember without falling prey to imaginary solutions, mirages of oases that never existed. They keep him, if not sharp, then vigilant at least, haunted by all of his mistakes.

Obi-Wan Kenobi regrets on a planet constantly assaulted by sunlight, enduring.

Under a forest canopy shading the ground below, Yoshino Kinokawa waits.

She waits for back up and she fumes at having to wait for back up and burns at needing to wait for back up and constructs a few traps while waiting for back up because for all that jedi younglings are raised to be pacifists, she was a padawan at war and this is–annoyingly, depressingly–familiar.

She waits back up and waits for the sun to rise and waits for Ibiki’s signal, or lack thereof, because it’s been too long and she trusts him to complete his part of the mission but it’s war and she can’t lose him–

(I can’t lose anyone else.)

Darth Vader stands and breathes and lives and senses all the little signatures of inferior beings on the station. And all the somewhat more numerous but no less inferior signatures of beings on Alderaan’s surface. Soon they will all be gone.

He does not care.
