Altani had hoped when she was young that she would inherit her mother’s skill as a mage, but her hopes were quickly dashed. She still struggles to manipulate aether on even the most basic levels.

#AURAUGUST Day 10: Date Night

Although they’d been involved for a while beforehand, Altani and Estinien’s first real date was a visit to the newly-finished Empyreum’s sauna and hot spring baths. They were both a little embarrassed at first, each being entirely out of their element, but their strong bond and the welcoming waters had them warming up quickly.

#AURAUGUST Day 5: Color

Altani was named for her golden eyes, unseen anywhere in her family line before her. Her eyes remain a focal point throughout her life, as they contrast heavily with both her dark coloring and her dark choices in clothing.

#AURAUGUST Day 6: Scion

It took a long time for Altani to really feel like she was one of the Scions, rather than just helping them, or working with them. The relief she felt upon returning to the Rising Stones after so much time spent in Ala Mhigo and Othard - even her home on the Azim Steppe - reassured her that the title of Scion was who she really was, and this was where she really belonged.

#AURAUGUST Day 7: Family

Altani was born to parents both fierce in battle and fiercely in love, having been eternally bonded in each of their three previous life cycles as well as the current one. Her older sister had a likewise made a name for herself as one of the tribe’s best lancers in two prior life cycles, and was already well on her way to reclaiming the renown by the time Altani was born. Being first of her name and coming from such a powerful family put an enormous amount of pressure on Altani in her youth, making her always feel as if she were trying to catch up.

Dealing damage is what Altani is known for, and she isn’t shy about it. She’s been training with the lance ever since she was old enough to carry one without toppling over, and with time comes mastery.

#AURAUGUST Day 12: Stars

Altani never considered herself much of a stargazer, but returning to the Steppe after a few years in Eorzea gave her a stronger appreciation for the vastness of the night sky when there was no light pollution to hide it.
