Happy Monday! My last photos have different shades of red as a protagonist (in case you haven’t noticed) and last week I posted a photo of a woman in red watching the sunset at the Millennium Bridge, that made me think how London seems to have red as a predominant colour around every corner, from the iconic and almost extinct phone booths, the Underground logo, the post boxes, the Grenediers guards or the Yeomen Wardens at the Tower of London to perhaps one of the most internationally recognised ones which are the buses especially the #doubledeckers. When I went around London last week chasing the sunset I was afraid I wouldn’t have time to capture everything I wanted to. One of my priorities was St Paul’s Cathedral which meant that I had to run from the Town Hall area were I was to get in time for the sunset in St Paul’s and the Millenium Bridge, the good light in sunsets last for about 45 mins so that meant I ended up rushing and running through the crowds of people that were enjoying their evening in the restaurants in London Bridge and against the crowd that was heading back home from the city. When I got to St Paul’s the sunset was almost gone but and while I was waiting for the heavy traffic to give me a window of opportunity for a nice photo of the Cathedral I took this photo with the double-decker in front which ended up being my favourite. I just love being on these buses, I always run like a little kid to the top floor and get a sit in front if I can, you get to see the same city in a different point of view a higher one and they turn what would otherwise be a mundane bus trip into a tourist adventure. So this is my homage to the double-decker buses. (at St. Paul's Cathedral) https://www.instagram.com/p/B15zXvtlRvm/?igshid=glq347h06q3j
I currently have a rather disconcerting early '70s earworm that's somehow mutating between 'Gudby T'Jane' by Slade into the theme to 'The Double Deckers' & back again. #slade #earworm #doubledeckers #seventies #gudbytjane #sketch #stevemaythe1st https://www.instagram.com/p/B1wEnkmHMpF/?igshid=92xv0vtucpwe
