It's cold and rainy BUT it's spring. What are Ferdinand and Hubert doing?

Hubert is supposed to meet Ferdinand for their usual afternoon tea/coffee break but it's been raining all day. He doubts Ferdinand is waiting for him in the tea garden, as is custom. So he walks to Ferdinand's office to ask where they should meet instead-- only to realize Ferdinand has moved their garden table and chairs inside his study, and is already waiting for Hubert with hot coffee at the ready.

What is your favorite kind of comment/feedback?

I looove when people include a line or scene they liked in their comment! Especially when different readers highlight different things from the same story-- they're often lines or moments I didn't think anyone would pick up on. It's immensely flattering!

As always I pull from my forever in-progress Ferdibert fic:

A few tents had been pitched. Varg led Melker to one and entered with him. Ferdinand claimed another tent, slid off his boots, and fell into the blankets. Images of the day raced before him— the sight of Hubert covered in blood and gasping for life had yet to leave the forefront of his mind. Someone in this very camp had dealt Hubert a fatal blow. Rightfully so, as he was the enemy, but Ferdinand found himself angry at that person. Angry at Hubert for getting him mixed up in all this trickery. Angry at himself for putting faith into someone on the other side of this war.  

Ferdinand rolled over, forced his fists to unclench, and found troubled sleep.

One day this fic will be finished and I will finally sleep a peaceful sleep.

Top 5 favorite foods/recipes.

Hmm this took thought. Let's go with recipes! In no particular order!

Chocolate Chip Cookies: This is just an easy and quick cookie that makes a good base for variations. Throw in peanut butter chips or dark chocolate chips, or press the dough into a 9x13 pan for bars. Plus most people like these cookies so they makes a great crowd pleaser or gift!

Honey Oat Bread: Favorite bread recipe. There's a tradition in our house that whoever is home during a snow day (due to school shut down or work closing) has to bake bread. That way the others come home to the best smell ever and ALSO have fresh bread to enjoy! :D

Banana Chocolate "Dump" Cake: This uses a box of cake mix and two very ripe bananas-- and it's delicious. Not hard to make, doesn't take too many ingredients, and doesn't even need to be frosted! Great for when you have only a few bananas to use up.

Spaghetti with Cherry Tomatoes: idk if this counts as a "recipe" but dang it I need a savory dish in this list XD Spaghetti with cherry tomatoes and balsamic is a great use of the fresh tomatoes my mom's friend gives us from her garden. Plus I can make it in advance and just let it sit in the pot until we're ready to eat. AND I just love an excuse to have as much balsamic as I want lol

Spice Cookies: Just a lovely fall cookie, baked in the spices of autumn. They're fun to cut into seasonal shapes-- and if you're feeling crafty, you can make up the icing and "paint" on faces and such. Great for making with kids!

How about we here from the good old Long Ferdibert Fic I've Been Messing With For Two Years WIP! The more I talk about it, the more likely I'll finish the last few chapters. This is from a scene where Ferdinand (midskip) has been staying at Dorothea's orphanage and is just leaving:

The thought of seeing the school now— torn apart, surely raided, overgrown and crumbled— made Ferdinand’s stomach grow cold.

Dorothea crossed her arms, a small huff from her nose puffing in the air between them. “I will see you there, right, Ferdie?”

The Professor had vanished. Hubert and Edelgard would not be foolish enough to leave Enbarr for something so trivial. Goddess knew where Linhardt and Bernadetta had run off too. Petra and Caspar remained a mystery. 

If there was even a chance to see any of them again, Ferdinand would take it.

“You shall indeed, Dorothea. You have my word twice over.”
