Whenever I think about Devin, I always smile. Because he just has the aura of a man who is kind and lovable, and always gives the best warmest hugs. He is the very embodiment of what a golden retriever would be as a human. I don’t do a good job of it in my drawings, but he has the kindest smiles and the most radiant energy that would cheer anybody up. People around him wonder how he has had so much patience for seven kids with an 11 year spread between them, while remaining completely capable of caring for his wife and being professional at his job as well. But he never thinks about it as a challenge, but rather a blessing that he was able to bring life into the world and bring his family happiness. Despite his happiness and his professional career working with his father as soon as he was old enough, his manner of speaking and action is....somewhat childish. Not quite immature, but a certain attitude that suggest he is a bit of an unaware airhead. He can be quite scatterbrained at times, often speaking too fast or stringing words together that make perfect sense to him but don’t quite convey the same thought to others listening to him. He is also easily excitable by small things, which is welcomed by his children who share their crafts and interests with him, but can be seen by his colleagues as somewhat unprofessional if they didn’t know that he was one of the hardest working people. But despite his manner of rapid thoughts and speech, he is patient and loving and, much like his mother Mary, remains more open minded to things he doesn’t quite understand. You make more friends being kind, right?
