My Name is Douglas Moore
What is your Height/Weight?
I am 5’9/198lbs
What is your position?
I play Cornerback, Nickel,and Dimeback
Where do you play college football?
I play at the Virginia Military Institute
Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?
The coolest thing I take part in off the field is volunteering at my high school coach’s positive choices football camp and teaching little kids the fundamentals of the game.
What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?
The hardest college class I’ve had since I’ve been here is – History & Systems of psychology
Where are you from?
I am from Washington, D.C
Who is your role model, and why?
My role model is my high school coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim because he not only showed me the in’s and out’s go the game but he also taught me how to be a man through his actions off the field and by the way he continuously defeats the odd’s.
Did you play any other sports growing up?
I played a little bit of basketball growing up but my main sport was always football
Did you play any other positions in football?
No, besides Nickel/Dimeback I was always a corner in college
At your position, what separates you from others?
My knowledge for the game. Also my preparation in the film room, and during the off-season.
When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?
When breaking down film I look for play calling/formation tendencies depending on the down and distance, wide receiver splits, QB accuracy and arm strength, and the most common route concepts ran on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down.
Who was the toughest player you ever faced?
The toughest player I ever faced was Tim Smith from UVA my sophomore year.
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?
Chris Harris Jr. because he is a corner that can play the nickel and the dime. Also because he isn’t scared to come up and make solid tackles, we are about the same height, he is a technician at every part of his game, and he is a smart football player with a football IQ off the charts just as I am.
What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest obstacle I’ve had to overcome was growing up without a father I lost my Dad at 7 years old to AIDS and although my Mom did a great job at raising me on her own not having a Father around was very tough. The way I overcame this obstacle was through football by using all of the lessons of the game, and God blessing me with great coaches my entire career to act as positive male role models. I owe it all to the game.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
Since I was 7 years old I always had to use bathroom and say a prayer before games
What is your biggest strength?
Knowledge/Football IQ/Technique
What is your biggest weakness?
Height/Length
If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?
I am the type of player that is going to be the first in the film room and the last on the practice field and weight room because I believe that preparation is key and that at the next level I believe my football IQ, knowledge for the game, my technique, and my God given athletic ability is going to put me way above the learning curve and allow me to make a positive impact on the team immediately. I appreciate your time and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to make an impact on your organization Sir. Thank you.
Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?
My favorite NFL team is and will always be the Redskins, and my favorite player growing up was Sean Taylor and Champ Bailey
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?
If I could have dinner with any 3 people I would have dinner with Tupac, Jay-Z, and Sean Taylor
What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?
A condo or an apartment
